Die Trofeo ACX Scrambler beansprucht hier eine Zeile und ein Modelljahr: 2022, 525 cm³. Maschinen, die nur für eine Saison erscheinen, sind angenehm im Besitz, aber in einem Teilesystem leicht aus dem Blick zu verlieren, und das unangenehme Detail kommt meist spät – Jahre später, wenn ein Verschleißteil gebraucht wird und der Regalplatz, den es früher belegte, längst etwas Neuerem gewichen ist. Ein Luftfilterelement, das gewaschen und wieder eingesetzt wird, entfernt sich dauerhaft von dieser Liste. Der Sprint Filter CM251S wird einmal gekauft, und danach wird er einfach gepflegt.

Das Verschleißteil, das aufhört, sich zu wiederholen
Der Besitz eines kurz gebauten Modells ist meist ganz gewöhnlich, bis ein kleines Teil nicht mehr verfügbar ist, und Luftfilterelemente sind genau die Art Teil, die still aus dem Vertrieb verschwindet, während das Motorrad noch tadellos in Schuss ist. Ein Verschleißteil dauerhaft von dieser Liste zu streichen, ist hier mehr wert als bei einem über ein Jahrzehnt gebauten Modell. Was damit einhergeht, muss man nicht übertreiben: Ein Einbaufilter macht eine Serien-Trofeo-ACX-Scrambler nicht spürbar schneller. Der Gewinn liegt darin, dass der Ansaugwiderstand bekannt, niedrig und wiederholbar ist – und dass es zum Erhalt nur eine Druckluftpistole braucht, keinen Lieferanten.
Zwei Jahre – und eine längere Erwartung
Sprint Filter nennt beides, und beides ist nicht dasselbe. Das Element ist so ausgelegt, dass es so lange hält wie das Motorrad, für das es zugeschnitten wurde – vorausgesetzt, es wird gereinigt, wenn es nötig ist, und danach ordentlich getrocknet. Die Garantie ist enger und präzise gefasst: zwei Jahre ab Kaufdatum. Zusammen gelesen beschreiben sie ein Teil, das behalten werden soll, kein Abonnement. Für wirklich staubigen Einsatz führt der Katalog für diesen Luftfilterkasten zusätzlich den CM251P14, bei 14 µm und 1.800 l/m²/sek – feiner, und dafür mit geringerem Durchfluss.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft übernimmt die Routinearbeit am CM251S: auf die saubere Seite richten, sodass der Staub aus dem Gewebe heraus- statt hindurchgedrückt wird. Waren Wasser und Split im Spiel, wird das Element in lauwarmem Wasser mit mildem Reinigungsmittel gewaschen, gründlich gespült und vollständig an der frischen Luft durchgetrocknet.
