Ein wiederverwendbarer Luftfilter bringt ein Problem mit sich, das das Wegwerf-Panel nie hatte. Er ist das eine Teil einer Speed Triple RR, das über die Lebensdauer des Motorrads immer wieder ausgebaut, angefasst und wieder eingesetzt wird – und Handhabung ist eine eigene Art, etwas zu ruinieren. Die Beladung bekommt die ganze Aufmerksamkeit, weil sie die reversible Hälfte ist. Die andere ist mechanisch – ein gerissener Faden, ein durch einen hastigen Wiedereinbau verbogener Rahmen – und keine Menge Druckluft macht das rückgängig. Es gibt also bei jedem Ausbau des Sprint Filter SM221S zwei Dinge zu prüfen, und es sind nicht dieselbe Frage: ob er sauber ist, und ob er unversehrt ist.

Sauber ist nicht dasselbe wie unversehrt
Schmutz wird mit einer Luftleitung beurteilt und mit derselben wieder entfernt. Beschädigung wird mit dem Auge beurteilt und lässt sich überhaupt nicht rückgängig machen. Halten Sie das Medium gegen das Licht, und suchen Sie nicht nach Grau – ein gebrauchtes Element darf gebraucht aussehen. Achten Sie auf einen gerissenen Faden, ein helles Nadelloch, eine Stelle, an der das Gewebe von seinen Nachbarn weggezogen wurde. Fahren Sie dann mit dem Finger am geformten Rahmen entlang und achten Sie auf eine Ecke, die nicht mehr plan aufliegt. Keines davon ist Verschleiß. Beides sind Beschädigungen, die von einem als Hebel verwendeten Schraubendreher stammen oder von einem schräg eingesetzten Element.
Was Sie tatsächlich kaufen
Keine Leistung. Ein Einsteckfilter macht einen Serien-1200er-Dreizylinder nicht spürbar schneller, was der Zubehörmarkt auch über Durchfluss suggeriert. Gekauft wird eine Filterung, die sich wiederherstellen lässt – und die nichts mehr wert ist, sobald das Medium ein Loch hat, weshalb die obige Prüfung hier wichtiger ist als bei einem Teil, das ohnehin für die Tonne bestimmt ist. Ein beladener Filter filtert noch; ein gerissener ist ein offener Weg. Stützen Sie beim Ausbau eher den Rahmen als das Gewebe, halten Sie Werkzeug vom Gewebe fern, und stellen Sie die Nutzung ein, sobald Sie einen Riss finden.
Pflege und Reinigung
Die routinemäßige Reinigung des SM221S erfolgt mit Druckluft auf der sauberen Seite, nach außen durch das Medium gerichtet. Wo Luft es nicht löst, waschen Sie das Element in lauwarmem Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel und spülen es, bis das Wasser klar bleibt. Trocknen Sie es vollständig ausschließlich an bewegter Luft – Hitze verformt Polyester, also kein Heizkörper, keine Heißluftpistole, keine Flamme – und setzen Sie es trocken wieder ein, ohne zu irgendeinem Zeitpunkt Öl aufzutragen. Passform & Kompatibilität
Zugeschnitten für den Serien-Luftfilterkasten der Triumph Speed Triple RR, 2021 bis 2026. Die RR ist die verkleidete Version derselben Plattform und nimmt daher dasselbe Element wie die Speed Triple RS derselben Baujahre – insgesamt zwei Maschinen auf diese Teilenummer. Die Baujahre sind im Tab „Passform" aufgeführt.
