Triumph baute diese Speed Triple R für zwei Modelljahre, 2016 und 2017, eingeklemmt zwischen der Generation, die 2015 endete, und der RS, die 2018 übernahm. Eine so kurze Bauzeit ist genau das Zeitfenster, in dem eine Luftfilterbestellung schiefgeht: Der Name auf dem Tank änderte sich nicht, sodass man leicht annimmt, das Teil dahinter habe sich auch nicht geändert. Sprint Filter zieht die Grenze bei 2016. Die frühere R fällt unter ein anderes Element; die Modelle von 2016 und 2017 nehmen den PM193S, und ist das einmal richtig, bleibt es richtig, denn ein P08 wird gereinigt und wiedereingebaut statt neu gekauft.
Wichtige Merkmale

- Doppelte Materialmenge im selben Gehäuse, denn Fläche trägt den Durchfluss, wenn das Gewebe so fein bleibt
- Passt anstelle des Werkelements in den Serien-Luftfilterkasten, nichts wird geschnitten, gepolstert oder umprogrammiert
- Zwei Jahre Garantie ab Kauf, ausgelegt, so lange zu halten wie das Motorrad

Der 1050er-Dreizylinder trug den Namen Speed Triple lange Zeit und veränderte sich darunter mehr als einmal, was den Modellnamen zu einer schlechten Grundlage macht, um Verschleißteile dafür zu kaufen. Sprint Filter fasst drei Maschinen unter dem PM193S zusammen: diese R von 2016 und 2017, die RS von 2018 bis 2020 und die S, die über die gesamte Spanne von 2016 bis 2020 verkauft wurde. Alles Frühere fällt unter eine andere Teilenummer. Gehen Sie vom Zulassungsjahr aus, nicht vom Namensschild – und hat das Motorrad kürzlich den Besitzer gewechselt, nehmen Sie vor der Bestellung das alte Element heraus und vergleichen Sie es.
Was Sie tatsächlich kaufen
Nicht Leistung. Ein Einsteckelement kann einen homologierten 1050er-Dreizylinder nicht spürbar stärker machen, und jede Beschreibung, die das verspricht, verkauft etwas anderes als einen Filter. Was sich ändert, ist, wie sich die Ansaugung über die Zeit verhält. Ein Zellulose-Element verlässt die Verpackung bei seinem niedrigsten Widerstand und steigt von dort an, bis es entsorgt wird; der P08 startet niedrig und kehrt bei jeder Reinigung zu diesem Ausgangspunkt zurück.
Pflege und Reinigung
Der PM193S wird mit einem an die saubere Seite gehaltenen Luftschlauch gewartet, sodass der Staub durch die schmutzige Seite zurückwandert, über die er hereinkam. Zu keinem Zeitpunkt wird geölt. Einmal pro Saison, oder nach einer besonders schmutzigen, in lauwarmem Wasser mit etwas mildem Reinigungsmittel waschen und klar spülen. An der Luft trocknen lassen, fern von Heizungen, Heißluftgeräten und jeder Art von Flamme, und erst wieder einbauen, wenn es ganz durchgetrocknet ist. Das Wartungsblatt liegt im Downloads-Tab.
