Die R war die Daytona für Fahrer, die bereits entschieden hatten, dass Serienfahrwerk und -bremsen nicht das Argument waren, und Besitzer solcher Motorräder gewöhnen sich an einen Katalog, in dem jedes Teil ein Upgrade zu dem ist, das es ersetzt. Ein Luftfilter lässt sich leicht auf dieselbe Weise lesen, als nächste Zeile auf der Liste. Das ist er nicht, und etwas anderes vorzugeben wäre unehrlich: Ein Einsteckelement macht einen Serienmotor nicht spürbar leistungsstärker. Was der Sprint Filter PM143S ersetzt, ist eigentlich gar kein Bauteil. Er ersetzt einen Kauf, den Sie sonst immer wieder getätigt hätten.

- Ein direkter Ersatz in eben diesem Luftfilterkasten – nichts modifiziert, nichts umprogrammiert, nichts zu melden
- Waschbar, wiederverwendbar, ausgelegt für die gesamte Lebensdauer des Motorrads; zwei Jahre Garantie ab Kaufdatum
Aus einem Verschleißteil wird ein fest verbautes Bauteil
Ein Zelluloseelement ist zum Wegwerfen gebaut, und der Wartungsplan geht davon aus: Es setzt sich zu, sein Widerstand steigt, und nach einem bestimmten Intervall wandert das Ganze in den Müll und ein neues wird gekauft. Der P08 ist gewebtes trockenes Polyester. Er wird mit Druckluft durchgeblasen, gewaschen, wenn es mehr braucht, und in denselben Luftfilterkasten zurückgesetzt, und Sprint Filter legt ihn auf die gesamte Lebensdauer des Motorrads aus. Die Veränderung betrifft nicht den Motor. Sie betrifft die Kategorie, zu der das Bauteil gehört – von etwas, das das Motorrad verbraucht, zu etwas, mit dem es ausgestattet ist.
Was das R-Paket veränderte – und was nicht
Alles, wofür das R-Emblem bezahlt wurde, sitzt zwischen Fahrer und Straße: Federn, Dämpfung, Bremsen und das Vertrauen, sich darauf zu verlassen. Nichts davon kam dem Ansaugtrakt auch nur nahe. Die R atmet durch denselben Luftfilterkasten wie die Basis-Daytona, durch dieselbe Öffnung, mit demselben Element darin, weshalb eine einzige Teilenummer beide abdeckt, zusammen mit den beiden Street Triples, die sich den Motor teilen. Auf der Ansaugseite stehen ein R-Besitzer und ein Besitzer des Basismodells vor genau derselben Entscheidung, und es ist eine Wartungsentscheidung, keine Leistungsentscheidung.
Pflege und Reinigung
Die normale Wartung versetzt das Element zurück in den Widerstand, mit dem es startete, und ist nichts weiter als Druckluft auf der sauberen Seite, nach außen geblasen. Wasser und ein mildes Reinigungsmittel erledigen, was die Druckluftpistole nicht schafft; spülen, bis das Wasser klar bleibt, dann vollständig an der frischen Luft trocknen. Hitze und Flamme kommen nie zum Einsatz, und das Element wird trocken wieder eingebaut – es gibt kein Öl nachzutragen. Im Downloads-Tab finden Sie das Wartungsblatt für den PM143S.
Passform & Kompatibilität
Gefertigt für die Triumph Daytona 675 R, 2013–2018. Dasselbe PM143S-Element deckt vier Modelle ab, die um diesen Luftfilterkasten herum gebaut sind – die Daytona 675 und die Daytona 675 R, die Street Triple 675 und die Street Triple 675 R.
