Von den sieben Motorrädern, die dieses Element abdeckt, ist die SRT 550 SX das einzige, dessen Eintrag bereits abgeschlossen ist: 2023 bis 2025, ohne offenes Ende danach. Für ein Modell ist das etwas ganz Normales, für seine Verschleißteile aber unangenehm. Alles, was irgendwann wieder gekauft werden muss, wird früher oder später zu einer Frage, wer es noch auf Lager hat, und Luftfilterelemente stehen in dieser Warteschlange ziemlich weit vorne, weil niemand sie im Voraus bestellt und niemand bemerkt, dass sie fehlen, bis einer gebraucht wird. Ein waschbarer Filter nimmt die SRT 550 SX ganz aus dieser Warteschlange heraus.

- Einlagiges trockenes Polyestergewebe: 80 µm bei nominal 5.050 l/m²/sek
- Fäden ab ø 22 Mikron aufwärts – die Öffnung ist gewebt, nicht gestanzt
- Gereinigt und wiederverwendet, sodass in späteren Jahren kein Verschleißteil beschafft werden muss
- Etwa doppelt so große Filterfläche wie die Performance-Filter, die es ersetzt
- Zwei Jahre Garantie, mit einer Nutzungsdauer, die der des Motorrads entspricht
Verschleißteile überdauern Produktionsläufe
Ein Motorrad bleibt weit länger auf der Straße, als es im Katalog steht, und die Teile, die es dort halten, gibt es in zwei Arten: solche, die einmal eingebaut werden, und solche, die immer wieder gekauft werden. Bei der zweiten Art wird ein ausgelaufenes Modell lästig – nicht weil etwas schwer herzustellen wäre, sondern weil die Nachfrage nachlässt und der Lagerbestand ihr folgt. Einen wiederkehrenden Kauf in eine Reinigungsaufgabe zu verwandeln, beseitigt diese Abhängigkeit vollständig. Es gibt keine Nachbestellung zu tätigen, keine Ersatz-Teilenummer zu recherchieren und keinen Service, der verschoben wird, weil ein Element nicht angekommen ist. Klar gesagt: Es macht die SRT 550 SX nicht schneller; ein Einsteckelement kann das nicht, und dieses wird auch nicht mit diesem Versprechen verkauft.
Immer noch eine aktuelle Teilenummer
Das Interessante ist, dass dieses Element nicht zusammen mit dem Modell aus der Produktion genommen wird, für das es gekauft wurde. Sprint Filter listet denselben Code für Modelle, die bis 2026 gebaut werden, sodass PM209S auch lange nach dem Ende der SRT 550 SX eine aktive Nummer bleibt. Ein Besitzer erbt also die Versorgung einer Baureihe, die noch verkauft wird, statt die Versorgung eines Modells, das ausgelaufen ist – und wird, da das Element gewaschen statt ersetzt wurde, diese Versorgung wahrscheinlich ohnehin nie brauchen.
Pflege und Reinigung
Richten Sie Druckluft auf die saubere Seite und arbeiten Sie sie über das Element, sodass der Schmutz auf dem Weg austritt, auf dem er eintrat; das ist in den meisten Fällen ein vollständiger Service. Ein öliger Film statt trockenem Staub verlangt nach lauwarmem Wasser und etwas mildem Reinigungsmittel, ausgespült, bis das Wasser klar bleibt. Danach kommt alles auf richtiges Trocknen an: nur Luft, keinerlei Hitzequelle, und kein Wiedereinbau, bevor das Gewebe vollständig durchgetrocknet ist. Das Wartungsblatt finden Sie im Downloads-Tab.
