Sprint Filter listet ein einziges Element für die 790 Duke und die 790 Duke L, und diese eine Zeile im Katalog beantwortet eine Frage, die Besitzer gedrosselter Maschinen regelmäßig stellen: Gibt es ein separates Ansaugteil für die A2-Version? Nein. Was auch immer KTM tut, um die L innerhalb ihrer Leistungsgrenze zu halten, geschieht anderswo als im Luftfiltergehäuse – Gehäuse, Öffnung und Element sind bei beiden identisch. Das ist der gleiche Kauf für einen Fahrer mit eingeschränkter Führerscheinklasse wie für den Fahrer, der er in zwei Jahren sein wird.

Ein Code, zwei Führerscheinklassen
Eine Drosselung begrenzt, was ein Motor abgeben darf; sie verändert nicht, was der Motor atmet. Der Katalog ist der klarste Beweis dafür – bräuchte die L ein anderes Ansaugteil, gäbe es dafür einen zweiten Code, und den gibt es nicht. Die Folgen sind unspektakulär und nützlich. Eine später entdrosselte 790 Duke L behält den Filter, den sie bereits hat. Eine mit voller Leistung verkaufte 790, die an einen Fahrer geht, der die A2-Version braucht, kommt mit einem bereits passenden Element an. Und ein Besitzer, der Medien vergleicht, muss nie herausfinden, für welche der beiden Versionen die Spezifikation eigentlich geschrieben wurde.
Was ein Element kann – und was nicht
Es macht keine der beiden Versionen schneller. Bei der L liegt die Grenze in der Führerscheinklasse und wird elektronisch durchgesetzt, sodass nichts im Ansaugtrakt sie erreichen kann; bei der vollen 790 verschiebt ein Einsatzfilter die Zahl ebenfalls nicht, und jede Seite, die etwas anderes andeutet, will etwas verkaufen. Was der P08 bietet, ist enger gefasst und real: ein Ansaugwiderstand, auf den der Besitzer eine Zahl zurücksetzen kann. Weil das Polyester gereinigt statt verbraucht wird, wird der Wert, gegen den der Motor arbeitet, zu einer gepflegten Größe statt einer still ansteigenden, und eine Druckluftpistole ist alles, was zwischen ihm und seinem Ausgangswert steht.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft auf die saubere Seite, nach außen geführt, damit die Last auf der Seite austritt, auf der sie angekommen ist. Wenn Luft allein nicht mehr genügt, entfernt lauwarmes Wasser mit etwas mildem Reinigungsmittel den Rest; spülen, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Getrocknet wird ausschließlich an bewegter Luft – keine Heißluftpistole, keine Heizung, keine Flamme – und der PM175S wird unbehandelt und vollständig trocken wieder eingebaut. Passgenauigkeit & Kompatibilität
Das P08-Element für die KTM 790 Duke und 790 Duke L, Modelljahre 2018 bis 2020. Für diesen Code sind fünf Modelle gelistet, von der 790 über die 890 bis zu den drei 990ern, weil sie sich ein Luftfiltergehäuse teilen. Der Schriftzug allein reicht hier nicht zur Bestimmung der Passgenauigkeit, bestellen Sie daher nach Elementcode und Baujahr. Jedes abgedeckte Modell ist im Passgenauigkeits-Tab genannt.
