Fast jede noch existierende 125 Duke wurde in kleinen Schritten verbessert – Hebel, ein Kennzeichenhalter-Kit, ein Slip-on, den jemand als eintragungsfähig verkauft hat. Diese Liste bleibt kurz, weil bei einem A1-Motorrad die Leistung durch eine Führerscheinklasse festgelegt ist, sodass ein großer Teil des Katalogs entweder Dekoration ist oder ein Gespräch mit der Prüfstelle nach sich zieht. Der Sprint Filter P08 gehört zu dem kleinen Rest, der keines von beidem ist. Er lebt im Serien-Luftfilterkasten, lässt das Motorrad so aussehen und klingen wie ab Werk, und macht aus einem Teil, das man ständig neu kaufen soll, eines, das man einfach reinigt.

Was die Führerscheinklasse festlegt – und was nicht
Die Obergrenze dieser Maschine steht in einer Führerscheinklasse, nicht in ihrem Ansaugtrakt, und kein Element, das in einen Serien-Luftfilterkasten passt, wird daran etwas ändern. Niemand sollte Ihnen das als Leistungsteil verkaufen, und diese Seite tut es nicht. Was die Vorschriften nicht festlegen, ist, wie gleichmäßig der Motor nach vier Wintern versorgt wird. Ein Papierelement kommt an seinem durchlässigsten Zustand an und geht an seinem restriktivsten in Rente, und es legt die Strecke dazwischen zurück, ohne es je zu erwähnen. Der P08 hat einen Zustand, in den man ihn zurückversetzen kann, sobald man Lust hat, den Kasten zu öffnen.
Die kurze Liste, ehrlich geführt
Die meisten für kleine Einzylinder verkauften Ansaugprodukte funktionieren, indem sie den Luftfilterkasten entfernen. Das verändert das Ansauggeräusch, verändert die Homologation der Maschine und bürdet der Gemischaufbereitung ein Problem auf, das niemand von ihr verlangt hat. Der Elementtausch macht nichts davon: Kasten, Schnorchel und innere Volumen bleiben exakt dort, wo KTM sie platziert hat, und nur das Medium darin ändert sich – von Zellulose, die entsorgt wird, zu Polyester aus Fäden ab etwa 22 Mikrometern, das gewaschen und wiederverwendet wird.
Pflege und Reinigung
Eine Druckluftpistole, auf die saubere Seite gehalten und über die ganze Fläche geführt, schickt den Schmutz durch dieselbe Oberfläche zurück, durch die er hereinkam. Was der trockenen Reinigung widersteht, gibt bei lauwarmem Wasser mit etwas mildem Reinigungsmittel nach; weiter spülen, solange noch Material austritt. Danach braucht es nur noch Luft und Zeit – kein Heizgerät, keine Flamme, und es geht erst zurück in den Kasten, wenn es ganz durchgetrocknet ist. Passgenauigkeit & Kompatibilität
Das ist der P08 für die KTM 125 Duke, Baujahre 2011 bis 2016 – die erste Generation, vor dem Redesign 2017, das den Luftfilterkasten veränderte. Sprint Filter listet dieses eine Teil für neun Modelle aus KTMs Kleinhubraum-Baureihe, daher besser nach Elementcode und Baujahr bestellen als nach dem Modellnamen allein.
