Für die Challenger Limited wird ein Rennsport-Gewebe mit 15.000 l/m²/sek angeboten, das hier beschriebene Standardgewebe mit 80 µm und 5.050 sowie ein feines Vlies mit 14 µm und 1.800. Geht man diese kurze Liste durch, bewegen sich die beiden Werte jedes Mal in entgegengesetzte Richtungen: Was an Rückhaltung gewonnen wird, wird beim Durchfluss bezahlt.

Was auf beiden Seiten liegt
Das Rennsport-Gewebe ist das durchlässigere der beiden Nachbarn, mit 15.000 l/m²/sek und einer 85, die es benennt statt bemisst, ausgelegt für einen Motor, der voll ausgedreht wird, wo jeder Liter Luft gebraucht wird und der interessante Teil des Tages kurz ist. Das Staub-Vlies geht den anderen Weg, 14 µm bei 1.800, ausgelegt für Luft, die etwas enthält, das es wert ist, zurückgehalten zu werden. Keines der beiden ist eine verbesserte Version dessen, was hier beschrieben wird. Jedes beantwortet eine Bedingung, die der Käufer vorher benennen können muss, und wo sich keine solche Bedingung benennen lässt, wird die Spezialisierung mit Durchfluss oder Rückhaltung bezahlt, ohne dass sie sich je auszahlt.
Bewusst die unspezialisierte Wahl treffen
Ein spezialisiertes Medium zahlt sich nur unter der Bedingung aus, für die es entwickelt wurde, und kostet in jeder anderen – und ein Medium wird einmal ausgewählt und dann jahrelang gefahren. Eine Challenger Limited, die auf befestigten Straßen Strecke macht, in welcher Jahreszeit auch immer, bleibt nie lange genug in einem einzigen Zustand, um von einer Spezialisierung zu profitieren. Was es nicht tut, ist Leistung hinzuzufügen – ein einsetzbares Element in einem unveränderten Gehäuse hat dafür keinen Mechanismus – stattdessen hält es den Ansaugwiderstand über das gesamte Wartungsintervall hinweg niedrig und wiederholbar.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft übernimmt die normale Wartung: von der sauberen Seite nach außen angewendet, bis das Gewebe wieder gleichmäßig aussieht, schickt sie die Beladung auf demselben Weg zurück, auf dem sie gekommen ist, statt sie tiefer hineinzutreiben. Filme, die sich mit Luft nicht lösen lassen, gehen mit handwarmem Wasser und mildem Reinigungsmittel ab; spülen Sie, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Danach langsam in umgebender Luft trocknen und nirgends in der Nähe von Heizkörper, Flamme oder Heißluftgebläse, denn Hitze schädigt Polyester, lange bevor es sich mit bloßem Auge erkennen lässt. Das PM237S kehrt trocken und unbehandelt in den Luftfilterkasten zurück. Im Downloads-Tab liegt das Wartungsblatt.
