Eine Hypermotard entsteht durch Weglassen. Verkleidung, Gewicht, Sitzpolsterung: Was sich weglassen lässt, wird weggelassen, und das Ergebnis wirkt flink, weil weniger davon da ist statt mehr. Der Luftfilterkasten ist der eine Ort am Motorrad, an dem dieser Instinkt die falsche Antwort liefert, denn niedriger Ansaugwiderstand wird mit Gewebe erkauft, und Gewebe bedeutet Fläche. Der Sprint Filter PM279S geht mit etwa der doppelten Filterfläche anderer Performance-Elemente in die Hypermotard V2 von 2026, verpackt in den serienmäßigen Rahmen — mehr davon, nicht weniger, in dem einen Gehäuse, wo mehr tatsächlich hilft.
Wichtigste Merkmale
- Trockenes Polyestergewebe in einer einzigen Lage, ohne Öl im Neuzustand und ohne Öl nach dem Waschen
- Kalibriert auf eine Öffnung von 80 µm, mit einem Nennwert von 5.050 l/m²/sek Durchfluss
- Faserdurchmesser ab ø 22 Mikrometer, das ist der Faden und nicht die Öffnung zwischen den Fäden
- Etwa doppelte Filterfläche vergleichbarer Performance-Filter, innerhalb des unveränderten Luftfilterkastens
- Direkter Austausch für das Werkspaneel: kein Eingriff am Gehäuse, keine Umpositionierung, kein Remapping
- Waschbar statt verbrauchbar, gebaut für die Lebensdauer der Maschine, zwei Jahre Garantie ab Kauf
Zwei Wege zu mehr Durchfluss
Ein Filter lässt sich auf zwei Arten dazu bringen, mehr durchzulassen: indem man die Öffnungen vergrößert oder indem man mehr davon bereitstellt, und die beiden Wege haben sehr unterschiedliche Folgen. Das Gewebe zu öffnen kostet direkt Rückhaltevermögen. Fläche hinzuzufügen kostet nichts außer dem Verpackungsproblem, sie unterzubringen. Sprint Filter geht den zweiten Weg und hält die Öffnung bei 80 µm, weshalb der Durchflusswert pro Quadratmeter angegeben wird und nicht pro Element — die Fläche ist die Hälfte der Spezifikation. Im herstellereigenen Vergleich hielt das trockene P08 93,13 Prozent der 100-Mikron-Testpartikel zurück gegenüber 76,42 Prozent bei vierlagiger geölter Baumwolle — trocken bedeutet also nicht durchlässig.
Nichts wird stromaufwärts hinzugefügt
Weil das Medium trocken ist und trocken bleibt, sitzt vor den Drosselklappen kein Film, der sich lösen und auf einem Sensor absetzen könnte, und es gibt keinen Ölschritt, den man nach einer Wäsche falsch machen könnte. Das ist kein Leistungsversprechen. Eine serienmäßige Hypermotard V2 fühlt sich durch einen Elementtausch im eigenen Luftfilterkasten nicht stärker an, und es war nie der Luftfilterkasten, der den Motor gebremst hat. Der Gewinn ist schmaler und hält länger: Dieses Teil hört auf, ein Kauf zu sein, und wird zu einer Aufgabe.
Pflege und Reinigung
Gereinigt wird mit Luft, nicht mit Chemie. Die Leitung an die dem Motor zugewandte Seite halten und alles durch das Gewebe nach außen treiben. Hat eine nasse Woche oder eine Saison Straßenfilm mehr als nur Staub hinterlassen, löst lauwarmes Wasser mit mildem Spülmittel das ab, und das Element wird gespült, bis nichts mehr abgeht. Danach trocknet es im Freien, fern von Heizgeräten und offener Flamme, und wird erst vollständig trocken wieder eingebaut.
