Eine DesertX sammelt Ausstattung, wie es nur wenige Motorräder tun. Lenker, Kennzeichenhalter, Gepäckträger, Scheiben, Licht, Reifen – jedes einzelne mit Blick auf eine geplante Route ausgesucht, jedes aus zwei Metern Entfernung sichtbar. Die Ansaugung steht außerhalb dieser Gewohnheit vollständig. Niemand rüstet einen Luftfilterkasten auf, weil niemand hineinschaut; es ist das einzige System an einem Reisemotorrad, das genau im Auslieferungszustand belassen und nur dann mit einem Verschleißteil aufgefüllt wird, wenn eine Werkstatt daran denkt. PM264S ist das Sprint-Filter-P08-Element für diesen übersehenen Kasten.

Das Teil, das niemand fotografiert
Die Aufmerksamkeit an einem Adventure-Bike gilt dem, was man sehen kann, und der Filter verliert diesen Wettbewerb jedes Mal. Er ist zugleich der einzige Posten auf der Liste, der jeden Kubikmeter Luft berührt, den der Motor je nutzen wird. Ein waschbares Element einzubauen macht den Luftfilterkasten nicht interessanter; es verschiebt ihn aus der Spalte der Dinge, die ersetzt werden, wenn es jemandem auffällt, in die Spalte der Dinge, die absichtlich gewartet werden. Das ist ein kleiner Kategoriewechsel, und bei einer auf hohe Laufleistungen ausgelegten Maschine ist es genau der, der still am meisten zählt.
Ehrlich darüber, was sich ändert
Es bringt keine zusätzliche Leistung. Ducati hat Ansaugung, Einspritzung und Auspuff als ein System entwickelt und gemeinsam homologiert, sodass ein Element in einem unveränderten Luftfilterkasten eine serienmäßige DesertX genau so stark lässt, wie sie war. Was sich ändert, ist der Verlauf der Widerstandskurve über die Zeit. Ein Papierelement ist am Tag des Einbaus am durchlässigsten und wird von da an immer dichter, bis es entsorgt wird; dieses hier wird mit Druckluft in seinen Ausgangszustand zurückversetzt, in der Garage oder auf dem Zeltplatz, so oft der Besitzer möchte.
Pflege und Reinigung
Eine Druckluftleitung erledigt fast alles: Die Düse an die saubere Seite halten und nach außen blasen, damit die aufgefangene Beladung den Weg verlässt, auf dem sie kam. Nach einer wirklich schmutzigen Fahrt löst handwarmes Wasser mit mildem Reinigungsmittel, was Druckluft nicht schafft, gespült, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Danach trocknet alles ausschließlich an bewegter Luft bei Umgebungstemperatur – keine Heißluftpistole, kein Heizkörper, keine Flamme, denn Hitze zerstört Polyester lautlos und vollständig. Passgenauigkeit & Kompatibilität
Gelistet für die Ducati DesertX, gebaut von 2022 bis 2025, als Ersatz für das Standard-Element; die DesertX V2 von 2026 braucht stattdessen den PM279S. Der Code deckt genau dieses eine Motorrad ab; die spätere DesertX V2 ist eine andere Maschine mit eigenem Luftfilterkasten und eigener Teilenummer, daher nach dem Baujahr in den Fahrzeugpapieren bestellen.
