Eine Filterspezifikation wird nicht wirklich an der Kasse bezahlt. Was auch immer ein Medium durchlässt, wird dem dahinterstehenden Motor angelastet, und die ZXR-14 Ninja trägt den größten Motor in Kawasakis Programm: 1.400 cm³ Vierzylinder, gebaut für harten Einsatz und teuer in der Instandsetzung. Das disqualifiziert den PM161S F1-85 nicht. Es bedeutet aber, dass das Argument für seinen Einbau entsprechend stärker sein muss als eine Zeile auf einem Datenblatt, denn dieselbe Spezifikation hat je nach dem, was stromabwärts sitzt, unterschiedliche Konsequenzen.

Derselbe Tausch, deutlich höherer Einsatz
Liest man die Medien als eine Linie statt als Rangfolge, lässt sich das leicht durchdenken. Jeder Schritt hin zu mehr Luftdurchsatz verlangt mehr von der Wartung, und der Zustand des Elements gilt für jeden Liter Luft, den der Motor ansaugt, solange es im Gehäuse sitzt. Bei einem kleinen Pendlermotorrad ist ein Irrtum dabei preiswert. Bei einem 1.400er-Vierzylinder ist er das nicht, weshalb der vernünftige Besitzer eines solchen Motorrads zuerst fragt, wofür der zusätzliche Luftdurchsatz gekauft wird, bevor er fragt, was er kostet. Die Antwort muss ein Einsatzzweck sein, keine Zahl.
Wo er hingehört, und wo der P08
Der F1-85 verdient seinen Platz auf einer Maschine, die im Rundstrecken- oder Beschleunigungswettbewerb eingesetzt wird, mit der dazugehörigen Wartung: Ölwechsel im Renn-Rhythmus, routinemäßig geöffneter Luftfilterkasten, das Element gereinigt statt vergessen. Unter diesen Bedingungen ist das durchflussstarke Gewebe gut versorgt. Für eine auf der Straße gefahrene ZXR-14 ist der Standard-P08 in derselben Form die bessere Kombination, und er opfert nichts, was ein Besitzer spüren würde – denn ein Einsteckelement macht eine Serien-ZXR-14 nicht spürbar stärker. Es hält den Widerstand niedrig und, was nützlicher ist, konstant.
Pflege und Reinigung
Der PM161S F1-85 wird trocken gereinigt: Druckluft an die saubere Seite halten und über das Element führen, sodass alles, was das Gewebe aufgefangen hat, auf derselben Seite wieder austritt, auf der es hereinkam. Hartnäckige Ablagerungen lösen sich mit lauwarmem Wasser und einer Spur mildem Reinigungsmittel, gefolgt von einem Spülgang, bis das Wasser klar bleibt. Getrocknet wird ausschließlich mit bewegter Luft – eine Heißluftpistole, ein Heizkörper oder eine offene Flamme zerstören das Polyester endgültig. Das Element wird trocken wieder eingebaut, ohne dass etwas aufgetragen wird. Das Wartungsblatt von Sprint Filter finden Sie im Downloads-Tab.
Passgenauigkeit & Kompatibilität
