Ein Zellulose-Flachfilter ist eine Entscheidung, die mit der nächsten Wartung ausläuft. Ein Racing-Gewebe nicht: Montieren Sie den PM58S F1-85 an eine CBR1000RR von 2008 bis 2016, sitzt er aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach noch in der Airbox, wenn das Motorrad zum Verkauf inseriert wird, und beim nächsten Besitzer danach ebenfalls. Wer mit einem Racing-Gewebe lebt, ist meist nicht diejenige Person, die es gewählt hat – ein Argument dafür, die Wahl bewusst zu treffen und schriftlich festzuhalten.

Ein Teil, das mit dem Motorrad verkauft wird
Neben dem Standardelement für dieses Gehäuse kostet das Racing-Gewebe gut das Doppelte, und das ist die kleinere Hälfte dessen, was hier entschieden wird. Die größere Hälfte ist die Zeit. Der etwa dreifache Nenndurchfluss kommt mit einem Gewebe, das enge Aufmerksamkeit erwartet – die 85 im Namen ist keine Porengröße, und bei 100 Mikron hält es sogar etwas mehr zurück als das Standardgewebe –, und diese Erwartung gilt in jeder Stunde, in der der Motor läuft, auf dem Arbeitsweg genauso wie auf der Rennstrecke. Er ist vertretbar, wo die Maschine hart genutzt und nach einem in Betriebsstunden gezählten Rhythmus kontrolliert wird. Deutlich schwerer zu vertreten ist er, wo das Motorrad ein Jahrzehnt lang sonntags von drei verschiedenen Personen gefahren wird, von denen keine weiß, dass es verbaut ist.
Zwei Zeilen in einer Mappe
Die praktische Antwort ist Dokumentation, nicht Vorsicht. Wird das Element eingesetzt, notieren Sie die Referenz mit Datum in der Wartungsmappe, damit die nächste Kontrolle auf Grundlage dessen erfolgt, was tatsächlich im Kasten sitzt. Es ist zudem vollständig reversibel – der Standard-PM58S passt in dasselbe Gehäuse –, was das Racing-Gewebe zu einer Position macht, nicht zu einer Festlegung. Kein Element macht ein serienmäßiges Superbike stärker, dieses eingeschlossen; was es ändert, ist, wie viel Luft das Gewebe durchlässt und wie viel es zurückhält.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft wird an die saubere Seite des PM58S F1-85 angesetzt und nach außen geblasen, sodass Ablagerungen denselben Weg verlassen, auf dem sie kamen, statt ins Gewebe gedrückt zu werden. Hinterlässt eine Saison mehr, als Luft allein löst, erledigen handwarmes Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel den Rest; spülen, bis es klar abläuft, und an bewegter Luft trocknen. Fitment & Kompatibilität
Der PM58S F1-85 deckt die Honda CBR1000RR von 2008 bis 2016 ab – eine einzelne Maschine unter dieser Referenz. Dasselbe Gehäuse nimmt auch den Standard-PM58S auf: Das Fitment steht so oder so fest, offen bleibt nur die Spezifikation.
