Dasselbe Geld, eine andere Entscheidung
Spark verlangt für diesen Slip-on genau so viel wie für den zugelassenen Konix Evo GKT0113TOM. Das macht die Wahl ungewöhnlich sauber: Es geht nicht ums Budget, sondern darum, ob das Motorrad zugelassen sein muss.
Muss es das, leistet der Konix Evo alles, was dieser hier leistet, mit einem Euro5-Papier dazu. Muss es das nicht — ein Renngerät, ein Motorrad dort, wo niemand kontrolliert, ein Zweitdämpfer für geschlossene Tage — ist das hier der freiere der beiden und der lautere.
Was ein Titangitter ist
Der Grid-O hat seinen Namen vom perforierten Titangitter am Auslass, und es ist die optische Signatur von Sparks Renndämpfern. Dahinter sitzt ein Gehäuse, vollständig aus Titan gebaut, mit ungeschliffen gelassenen WIG-Nähten.
Es ist dieselbe Formensprache, die Spark an den Dämpfern verwendet, die es Teams in Superbike-WM und Moto2 liefert. An einer Super Duke, in der seitlichen Serienlage montiert, wo er auf Augenhöhe neben der Schwinge sitzt, ist diese Machart sehr deutlich zu sehen.
Wohin er darf und wohin nicht
Sparks Formulierung lässt keinen Spielraum: Dieses Angebot ist nicht straßenzulässig. Das ist ein Hersteller, der ein Papier nicht ausstellt, und kein vorsichtiger Händler — und es sollte vor der Bestellung wörtlich genommen werden.
Was er behält, sind die Serien-Einbaulage und die Sozius-Fußrasten — anders als die Untersitz-Kits, die beides aufgeben. Eine Super Duke mit diesem Dämpfer ist also weiterhin ein Zweisitzer, nur kein zugelassener.
Was „nicht straßenzulässig“ praktisch heißt
Kein EG-Papier heißt keine Betriebserlaubnis für öffentliche Straßen, und in Deutschland ist das eine Frage der Fahrzeugpapiere und nicht des Geräuschpegels der Anlage. Ein niedrigerer Messwert schafft keine Zulassung, und ein dB-Killer ebenso wenig.
Einen bietet Spark für dieses Gehäuse durchaus an — den universellen Grid-O-Einsatz G9989, 35 mm Durchmesser und 100 mm lang. Er senkt den Pegel für eine Strecke mit veröffentlichter Grenze. An dem, was in den Papieren steht, ändert er nichts.
Ein Zweitdämpfer für den Transporter
Weil dieser Slip-on die seitliche Serienaufnahme nutzt, ist der Wechsel zwischen ihm und einem zugelassenen Dämpfer eine Sache von Minuten, mit denselben Schrauben. Damit wird er zum realistischen Zweitdämpfer statt zu einer endgültigen Festlegung.
Mit dem zugelassenen Gehäuse zur Strecke fahren, im Fahrerlager auf dieses wechseln, vor der Abfahrt zurückbauen. Das ist die Anordnung, die viele Super-Duke-Besitzer tatsächlich wollen, und die gemeinsame Aufnahme macht sie praktikabel.
Passform & Kompatibilität
KTM 1290 Super Duke R, 1290 Super Duke R EVO, 1390 Super Duke R und 1390 Super Duke R EVO, 2020 bis 2026. Die zugelassenen seitlichen Slip-ons sind die GKT0113TOM in Titan und die GKT0113DOM in Dark, zum selben Preis. Die Untersitz-Paare sind GKT0111TOM, GKT0117TOM und GKT0120TOMA. Der universelle Grid-O-dB-Killer ist der G9989.
