Neunzig oder hundertachtzig
Fünfzig ist einer von nur zwei Durchmessern, die Spark zu einem vollen U biegt — die Wahl ist also echt: eine zurücklaufende Strecke aus zwei davon mit einer Geraden dazwischen, oder ein einzelner G9165.
Das U ist ein Teil, eine Naht weniger und eine feste Breite. Das Paar ist verstellbar und braucht mehr Raum. Enge Untersitzarbeiten wollen meist das U, ein Aufbau in Formfindung meist das Paar.
Der Platz, den eine Ecke braucht
Mit den geraden Enden belegt ein Serien-Neunziger in diesem Durchmesser ein Quadrat von rund hundertdreißig Millimetern Kantenlänge. Dieses Quadrat auf ein Foto des Motorrads zu zeichnen dauert eine Minute und verhindert den häufigsten Fehler beim ersten Aufbau.
Prüfen, was ankommt
Dünnwandige Bögen reisen schlecht, wenn ein Spediteur etwas auf den Karton stellt. Messen Sie beide geraden Enden mit dem Messschieber in zwei Achsen, bevor irgendetwas geschnitten wird: Ein unrund angekommenes Teil ist rücksendbar und nach dem Kürzen wertlos.
Reinigen vor dem Schweißen
Aceton auf einem fusselfreien Tuch und eine Edelstahlbürste, die ausschließlich für Edelstahl benutzt wird. Bremsenreiniger hinterlässt Rückstände, die manche Formulierungen unter dem Lichtbogen in Phosgen verwandeln, und eine Bürste, die Baustahl berührt hat, bettet Eisen in die Oberfläche — und genau das lässt eine saubere Edelstahlnaht später fleckig rosten.
Zwei Bögen und ein Schalldämpfer
Die häufigste Eigenbau-Anordnung in diesem Durchmesser ist ein rechter Winkel ab Sammler, eine Gerade und ein flacherer Bogen in die Dämpferposition. Drei Artikel und ein Gehäuse — und keine Biegemaschine in der Werkstatt.
