Wenn nur ein rechter Winkel passt
Ein Neunziger kostet mehr Strömung als jeder andere Bogen, und man kauft ihn trotzdem, weil die Alternative nicht hineingeht. In den engen Räumen, in denen Kleinquerschnitt-Arbeiten stattfinden — zwischen Kurbelgehäuse und Rahmenrohr, hinter einem Zylinder, unter einem Getriebe — ist für zwei Fünfundvierziger und eine Gerade oft kein Platz.

Zwei Rohre kreuzen
Ein Ausgleichsrohr zwischen zwei Krümmern muss meist das eine Rohr verlassen, hinüberqueren und rechtwinklig in das andere eintreten. Zwei davon und ein kurzes gerades Stück sind die ganze Baugruppe, und in dieser Größe sind die Teile klein genug, um zwischen den Zylindern eines Twins zu arbeiten.
Wieder die schwere Wand
Anderthalb Millimeter statt einem. Bei achtundzwanzig Millimetern würde die dünnere Wand an der inneren Ferse eines so scharfen Bogens falten — das Verhältnis von Durchmesser zu Wand entscheidet über das Zusammenfallen, und ein rechter Winkel stellt es am härtesten auf die Probe.
Zugang zum Schweißen in einer Ecke
Ein rechter Winkel dicht an einem anderen Bauteil lässt keinen Platz für einen Brenner. Planen Sie die Reihenfolge vor dem Zusammenbau: Verbindungen, die später unzugänglich werden, zuerst schweißen, die offenen zuletzt.
Es ist der häufigste Grund, warum eine Eigenbauanlage eine schlecht aussehende Naht hat.
In zwei Fünfundvierziger teilen
Ein 90°-Bogen, am Scheitel geschnitten, ergibt zwei Fünfundvierziger mit je einem geraden Ende. Ob das nützlich ist, hängt vom Aufbau ab — aber es lohnt zu wissen, bevor man drei Artikel für eine Aufgabe bestellt, die einen braucht.
Gegen einen Winkel prüfen
Stellen Sie den Bogen mit einem geraden Ende auf eine ebene Fläche und halten Sie einen Anschlagwinkel an das andere. Ein geformter Neunziger liegt in der Regel innerhalb eines Grades; ein handgebogener selten — und der Fehler zeigt sich erst, wenn er eingeschweißt ist.
