Der Versatz-Trick
Zwei 30°-Bögen Rücken an Rücken mit einem kurzen geraden Stück dazwischen verschieben eine Strecke seitlich und lassen sie in dieselbe Richtung zeigen. Wie weit sie versetzt wird, bestimmt allein die Länge dieses geraden Stücks — ein Bogenpaar deckt also einen weiten Korrekturbereich ab.
Es ist die Standardantwort auf einen Schalldämpfer, der zehn Millimeter zu weit innen sitzt, und weit schneller als die Strecke neu zu bauen.
Zwei Bögen zusammenschweißen
Bögen Rücken an Rücken sind die Verbindung, die am ehesten schief wird, weil es keine lange Gerade gibt, an der man entlangpeilen kann. An vier Punkten heften, dann die Baugruppe ans Motorrad halten, bevor geschweißt wird — ein Grad Fehler hier wird am Schalldämpfer zu einem Zentimeter.
Achtunddreißig im Zusammenhang
Ein gängiges Krümmermaß an Parallel-Twins von 650 bis 900 cm³ und der Innendurchmesser des Grid-O-Einsatzes, den Spark seinen MT-07- und XSR700-Anlagen beilegt. Wer um diese Plattform herum baut, baut in dieser Größe.
Durch eine Krümmung schneiden
Einen rechtwinkligen Schnitt auf einem gekrümmten Abschnitt anzureißen ist unangenehm. Wickeln Sie einen Papierstreifen um das Rohr, bringen Sie die überlappenden Kanten zur Deckung und reißen Sie daran an — das Papier folgt der Ellipse, der die Säge folgen muss.
Freihändiges Anreißen an einem Bogen ist der übliche Grund, warum eine Verbindung auf einer Seite eine Lücke hat.
Unrundheit am Übergang
Ein Bogen ist genau dort am wenigsten rund, wo die Krümmung auf die Gerade trifft. Bei einem dorngeformten Teil ist die Abweichung gering, reicht aber, um eine enge Steckverbindung klemmen zu lassen. Messen Sie das Ende mit dem Messschieber in zwei Achsen, bevor Sie annehmen, dass eine Hülse aufgeht.
