Den Halt eines Helms machen zum größten Teil die Wangenpolster aus, und genau sie geben beim Skwal Cup als Erstes nach. Dies ist der Werksersatz: ein linkes und ein rechtes Polster im selben herausnehmbaren, waschbaren Alveotech-Futter, das Shark ab Werk verbaut. Ein Helm, der nach zwei Saisons zu weit geworden ist, bekommt damit seinen ursprünglichen Sitz zurück, statt aussortiert zu werden.

Welche der beiden Nummern
Shark legt nicht für jede Helmgröße ein eigenes Wangenpolster auf. Eine Polsterstärke deckt mehrere Größen ab, und deshalb teilen die beiden Nummern dieser Familie die Reihe ungleich auf. Die eine gilt für XS, M, L und XXL, die andere für S und XL. Zu wählen ist die Nummer, in der die eigene Helmgröße steht, nicht die mit der gefälliger wirkenden Aufzählung. Wer zwischen zwei Größen liegt oder es fester mag, greift üblicherweise zur benachbarten Variante, statt den Helm zu wechseln.
Passung
Die Preisliste nennt zu dieser Nummer den Skwal Cup direkt. Die Polster sind auf diese Schale und ihren Wangenschnitt zugeschnitten; mit Skwal i3 oder D-Skwal 3 sind sie nicht tauschbar, deren Innenräume teilen die Optik, aber nicht den Schnitt.
Einbau
Die Polster sitzen vorn auf Druckknöpfen und schieben sich hinten in eine Schiene entlang der Schalenunterkante. Erst die Schiene führen, dann die Knöpfe schließen, und prüfen, ob das Kinnband durch den Schlitz im Polster läuft und nicht dahinter. Ein hinter dem Polster geführtes Band fühlt sich im Stand richtig an und hält im Sturz nicht.
