Jede Komponente — von der hydrogeformten Carbon-Endkappe bis zu den CNC-gefrästen Titan-Buchsen — wird nach den strengen Toleranzen gefertigt, die die Superbike-Weltmeisterschaft verlangt, und sorgt für eine Gewichtsersparnis von 5 kg bei spürbar direkterem Ansprechverhalten.

Konstruktion und Materialien
Der Anspruch von SC-Project an Materialqualität wird sofort spürbar, sobald man den SC1-R in die Hand nimmt. Der Endtopf besteht aus hochwertiger Carbonfaser, wodurch die Masse auf ein absolutes Minimum reduziert wird, während die strukturelle Steifigkeit auch bei anhaltend hohen Drehzahlen erhalten bleibt. Die hydrogeformte Carbon-Endkappe — ein Verfahren aus der Luft- und Raumfahrtfertigung — erzeugt eine mehrfach gekrümmte Oberfläche, die die Abgase effizient lenkt und der Hitzeermüdung weit länger standhält als herkömmliche gepresste Stahl- oder Aluminium-Alternativen.
Titan kommt durchgängig bei den Verbindungsteilen und Rohranschlüssen zum Einsatz. Die CNC-Fräsung stellt sicher, dass jede Buchse enge Maßtoleranzen einhält, wodurch das Spiel entfällt, das sonst Vibrationen und vorzeitigen Verschleiß verursachen kann. Die Titan-Konstruktion reduziert zudem die Wärmeübertragung auf die umliegende Verkleidung, hält den Fahrwerksbereich sauber und schützt das Bein des Fahrers bei Trackday-Einsätzen vor übermäßiger Abstrahlwärme.
Leistung und Sound
Die optimierte Innengeometrie verbessert das Abgas-Scavenging über den gesamten Drehzahlbereich und sorgt so direkt für ein schärferes Ansprechverhalten und eine bessere Drehmomentabgabe aus langsamen Kurven heraus — genau dort, wo auf der ZX-10 R Rundenzeiten gewonnen werden. Der SC1-R erzeugt einen zielgerichteten, tiefen Racing-Sound, der durch die spezielle Akustik-Ingenieurskunst von SC-Project geprägt ist.
