Blank Mat reduziert den RS Jet auf das eine, worauf jedes andere Dekor dieser Reihe aufbaut: die Form selbst, in einem einzigen mattem Schwarz, das jede Kontur und jede Lufthutze zeigt, ohne dass eine Grafik um Aufmerksamkeit konkurriert. Es ist das Dekor, von dem Shark selbst eine Farbreihe ausgehen lässt, und bei einem offenen Helm, bei dem Visiermechanik, Seitenteile und Spoilerlinie ohnehin den Großteil der optischen Arbeit leisten, ist ein flaches Finish kein fehlender Aufwand — es ist die Version, die die Technik am deutlichsten zeigt.
Eine Schale für Gewicht, nicht für ein Abzeichen
Lassen Sie die Marketingsprache beiseite: Entscheidend ist, woraus die Schale besteht und was das bringt. Shark baut die Struktur des RS Jet als Verbundschale mit mehrdichtem EPS darunter — das leichtere Geschwister dieses Paares, unterschieden von der teureren Variante, die Shark daneben mit einem anderen Schalenmaterial für nochmals weniger Masse zu einem höheren Preis anbietet. Dieser hier wiegt 1.480 g in seiner ersten, kleinsten Schalengröße, eine für einen offenen Helm wirklich leichte Zahl und die, die am meisten zählt, wenn Sie ihn einen ganzen Tag tragen statt nur für ein Foto.
Kein Kinnbügel, offen gesagt
Ein Jethelm schützt den Schädel und lässt die untere Gesichtspartie konstruktionsbedingt frei, und der RS Jet macht da keine Ausnahme: Es gibt keinen Kinnbügel, keine Abdeckung über dem Kiefer, nichts zwischen Ihrem Kinn und der Straße bei einem Sturz. Das ist kein Mangel speziell dieses Helms — es ist das, was die Wahl einer Jet-Form gegenüber einer Integralform bedeutet, und es gehört hier in einen eigenen Satz statt beiläufig in eine Merkmalsliste. Wenn Kinnschutz Ihnen wichtiger ist als freies Sichtfeld und leichtes Auf- und Absetzen, ist ein Integralhelm die ehrliche Antwort, nicht dieser.
Was ECE 22.06 tatsächlich prüft
Die Zertifizierung dieser Schale ist ECE 22.06, die Norm, die ab Januar 2024 die zwingende EU-Zulassung für neu homologierte Helme wurde und 22.05 ablöste. Der alte Test traf eine Schale an fünf festen Punkten; dieser trifft sie an achtzehn, über mehrere Aufprallgeschwindigkeiten statt einer, und fügt einen schrägen Aufpralltest gegen einen rauen Amboss hinzu, den der alte Standard nie kannte — ein streifender, verdrehender Treffer statt eines geraden Falls, bewertet nach den Rotationskräften, die diese Art Aufprall ins Gehirn schickt. Jedes bei der Prüfung montierte Zubehörteil, Visier eingeschlossen, bleibt während des Tests an der Schale. Die Preisliste selbst liest Norme 2206 ohne FIM-Zusatz: ein Straßenzulassungscode, kein Wettbewerbscode.
Gewicht als Zahl, die Ihr Nacken den ganzen Tag trägt
1.480 g liegen am leichteren Ende dessen, was ein Helm dieser Klasse typischerweise wiegt, und die Zahl ist mehr wert als eine Zeile im Datenblatt: Jedes Gramm davon lastet über einen vollen Arbeitsweg, ein Wochenende, einen ganzen Tag im Sattel auf Ihrem Nacken, nicht nur im Moment eines Aufpralls, den es überstehen soll. Eine offene Schale ohne Kinnbügel hat weniger Struktur aufzubauen als ein gleichwertiger Integralhelm, und das Gewicht spiegelt das direkt wider.
Belüftung an einer offenen Schale
Ein offener Helm erledigt einen großen Teil seiner eigenen Kühlung allein dadurch, dass die untere Gesichtspartie dem Fahrtwind ausgesetzt ist, und die Schale des RS Jet ist so geformt, dass sie Luft durchlässt statt sie zu bekämpfen — seitliche Lufteinlässe speisen den Visierbereich direkt, ohne dass Luft um einen Kinnbügel herumgeleitet werden müsste, den es hier gar nicht gibt.
Visier: VZ360, seitliche Verriegelung
Das montierte Visier der Familie VZ360 verriegelt seitlich statt zentral, ist als Langstrecken-Visier mit freier Positionierung statt nur festen Raststufen ausgelegt und kommt bereits mit einem Max-Vision-Pinlock-Einsatz mit verstellbarer Spannung. Es trägt eine kratzfeste Beschichtung und eine Vier-Punkt-Verankerung, die es an der Schale hält. Jede Iridium- und Dunkeltönung, die Shark für diese Visierfamilie anbietet, ist ausschließlich für den Rennstreckeneinsatz gekennzeichnet — ein separater Kauf für Trackdays, keine straßenzulässige Option an dieser Schale.
Windgeräusch, ehrlich betrachtet
Ein offener Helm ist bei Tempo lauter als ein Integralhelm, allein durch die Konstruktion — es gibt keinen Kinnbügel, der Luft von den Ohren fernhält, und die Unterkante des Visiers liegt näher am Fahrtwind als die Kinnbelüftung einer geschlossenen Schale je könnte. Das gilt für jeden gebauten Jethelm, diesen eingeschlossen, und kein Hersteller-Dezibelwert ist für den RS Jet veröffentlicht, um diese Tatsache mit einer Zahl abzumildern, also wird hier auch keine erfunden.
Wo der RS Jet preislich steht
Innerhalb von Sharks aktueller Jethelm-Reihe eröffnet der Skwal Jet die Preisleiter ab 189,99 €, der Skwal Jet Cup folgt ab 239,99 €, und der Skwal i3 Jet mit LED-Bremslicht reicht von 289,99 € bis 349,99 €. Dieses Dekor Blank Mat ist der alleinige Einstiegspunkt dieser Baureihe bei 249,99 € — die teurere Variante desselben Helms, mit einer anderen, leichteren Schale gebaut, beginnt deutlich höher, ab 279,99 €.

Ersatzteile, später
Ein zerkratztes oder beschlagenes Visier ist an diesem Helm ein Ersatzteil, kein Grund für einen Neukauf. Die Visierfamilie VZ360 und ihr Pinlock-120-Einsatz sind unter Sharks eigenen Teilenummern gelistet, quer über die RS-Jet-Reihe, sodass Ersatz auch lange verfügbar bleibt, nachdem ein Dekor aus dem Sortiment gelaufen ist.
Passform aus der Schale
Sechs Größen, XS bis XXL, werden für diesen Helm angeboten. Sharks eigenes Material zu diesem konkreten Dekor nennt nicht, auf wie viele physische Schalenformen sich diese sechs Größen verteilen, daher wird hier keine Aussage getroffen — anders als bei manch anderem Modell dieser Reihe, wo die Zahl bekannt ist, bleibt sie hier unbenannt statt geraten.
Was diesem Helm fehlt
Klar gesagt: Für den RS Jet existiert keine SHARP-Sternebewertung — das britische Programm hat weder dieses Modell noch seine leichtere Schwestervariante unter irgendeinem in seinen eigenen Listen gefundenen Namen getestet. Kein MIPS, keine DOT- oder Snell-Homologation, kein veröffentlichter Windgeräuschwert, und kein LED- oder Lichtsystem jeglicher Art — dies ist ein konventioneller offener Helm ohne die Bremslicht-Hardware, die der daneben verkaufte Skwal i3 Jet trägt. Dieses Dekor, Blank Mat, ist zudem das einzige dieses Helms, das aktuell im Sortiment 2027 gelistet ist.

Der Helm kommt mit montiertem Visier und bereits eingesetztem Max-Vision-Pinlock-120-Einsatz, reflektierenden Bändern für schlechte Sichtverhältnisse und Sharks Standarddokumentation. Sharktooth- und SENA-Interkom-Kompatibilität ist ab Werk in die Schale eingebaut, sodass ein später nachgerüstetes Kommunikationssystem keinen anderen Helm erfordert.
