Design & Verarbeitungsqualität
Puig entwickelte das Naked Windschild als Teil der Kompaktwindschild-Reihe, gezielt für Motorräder mit rundem Frontscheinwerfer und minimalistischem, aufrechtem Cockpit. Die Form ist bewusst kompakt gehalten: kurz genug, um die klassische Silhouette der T214 zu bewahren, aber hoch genug, um turbulente Luft bei Autobahngeschwindigkeit von der Brust des Fahrers wegzulenken. Mit 686 g fügt das Windschild kaum ungefederte Masse hinzu und bewahrt die Fahrwerksbalance der Bonneville genau so, wie Triumph es vorgesehen hat. Die abgerundete Randverarbeitung ist nicht rein dekorativ — sie erfüllt die europäischen Sicherheitsvorschriften und verhindert, dass Kleidung hängen bleibt oder bei einem Sturz Verletzungen entstehen.
Leistung auf Strecke & Straße
Auf der Rennstrecke bewährt sich das Puig Naked Windschild, indem es das aerodynamische Gesamtpaket rund um die Scheinwerfergondel der Bonneville verfeinert. Ohne Windschild wirkt der runde Frontscheinwerfer wie ein stumpfer Körper, der turbulenten Widerstand erzeugt, gegen den der Oberkörper des Fahrers ankämpfen muss. Das Profil aus der Kompaktwindschild-Reihe steuert diesen Übergang gezielt, hält den Druck am Vorderende in der Kurveneinfahrt konstant und reduziert die Windlast, die sonst am Ende der Geraden gegen den Lenker drücken würde. Auf der Straße bedeutet derselbe Effekt weniger Ermüdung im Oberkörper auf längeren Fahrten — ein echter Komfortgewinn für Langstreckenfahrer.
