Die fließende Karosserie der Hayabusa verdient einen Schutz, der wirkt, als käme er direkt ab Werk, und nicht wie nachträglich angeschraubt. Diese Kotflügelverlängerung von Puig ist so geformt, dass sie bündig am Original-Kotflügel anliegt und dessen Reichweite in schwarzer Ausführung erweitert – sie fügt sich nahtlos in die Linienführung der Hayabusa ein und hält gleichzeitig zuverlässig Straßenschmutz von Motor, Kühler und Lackierung fern.

Serienmäßige Kotflügel sind in erster Linie auf die Optik ausgelegt, die Abdeckung kommt erst an zweiter Stelle. Diese Kotflügelverlängerung vorne schließt genau diese Lücke: Als zusätzlicher Spritzschutz hilft sie, Kühler und untere Verkleidungsteile vor Steinen, Splitt und aufgewirbeltem Wasser vom Vorderrad zu schützen. Gefertigt aus ABS-Kunststoff, ist sie robust genug für den realen Fahrbetrieb und dabei leicht genug, um das Fahrverhalten nicht zu beeinträchtigen.
