Wo es sitzt
Als Maß nennt Öhlins Innendurchmesser 6 mm, Außendurchmesser 17 mm, Stärke 0.30 mm. Shims verformen sich elastisch; nach vielen Betriebsstunden bleiben sie leicht geschüsselt. Ein verbogenes Shim macht die Dämpfung in einer Richtung unbrauchbar. Beim Abstimmen wird an diesem Paket gearbeitet, nicht an den Verstellern.

Verschleiß zeigt sich zuerst an den Dichtflächen; Riefen dort bedeuten meist, dass mehr als eine Position fällig ist.
Zuordnung über die Nummer
Nummer 01430-17 und Maß gehören zusammen; weicht eines ab, ist es die falsche Position. Beim Zerlegen wird die Reihenfolge notiert oder das Paket aufgefädelt aufbewahrt. Die Reihenfolge im Paket ist festgelegt und darf beim Zusammenbau nicht vertauscht werden.
