Wie Öhlins baut
Gehäuse werden aus dem Vollmaterial gefräst, nicht gegossen. Die Einheit ist zerlegbar konstruiert — was sich öffnen lässt, lässt sich warten. Kanäle und Bohrungen werden nach der Bearbeitung gespült, damit kein Span im Öl landet.

Öhlins hält Teile für Baureihen vor, die längst ausgelaufen sind. Die Eloxierung ist Hartschicht, nicht dekorativ — das zählt an einem Bauteil, das Streusalz und Steinschlag abbekommt.
Für den Einsatz an Öhlins-Fahrwerken vorgesehen. Wo Aluminium auf Stahl trifft, sitzt eine Trennung gegen Kontaktkorrosion.
