Funktion
Nach Öhlins-Angabe: Dimension A 10 mm, Dimension B 12 mm, Dimension C 440 mm. Fällt der Gasdruck, wird die Dämpfung im Verlauf des Hubs unregelmäßig. Das Reservoir nimmt das Öl auf, das die einfahrende Welle verdrängt. Der Schlauch verbindet Dämpfer und Ausgleichsbehälter und trägt den vollen Druck.

Ein Dämpfer ist kein Verschleißteil im Ganzen, sondern eine Baugruppe aus Teilen, die einzeln getauscht werden können. Ein überholtes Federbein arbeitet wieder mit der Dämpfung, die im Datenblatt steht — vorausgesetzt, die Teile stimmen.

Die Maße stehen unten; sie sind der zweite Prüfpunkt neben der Nummer 00640-18. Es ist mit Stickstoff vorgespannt, damit das Öl unter Last nicht schäumt.
