Funktion
Maßlich ist das Teil mit Innendurchmesser 14.3 mm, Schnurstärke 2.4 mm, Werkstoff NBR 70 beschrieben. Die Vorspannung der Lippe kommt von einer eingelegten Ringfeder. Ein Dichtkopf fasst Wellendichtring, Staubdichtung und Führung in einer Baugruppe zusammen. Eine gealterte Dichtung wird hart und verliert die Vorspannung an der Lippe.

Öhlins fertigt Serviceteile in denselben Toleranzen wie die Erstausrüstung; ein Nachbau trifft die Passung selten.
Die richtige Nummer finden
Nummer 00338-76 und Maß gehören zusammen; weicht eines ab, ist es die falsche Position. Die Staubdichtung hält Schmutz ab, dichtet aber nicht gegen Öldruck. O-Ringe werden über den Innendurchmesser und die Schnurstärke bestimmt, nicht über den Außendurchmesser.
