Nach Öhlins-Angabe: Dimension A 29 mm, Dimension B 75 mm, Dimension C 56.5 mm. Eine zu weiche Feder lässt sich mit Vorspannung nicht ausgleichen. Nach vielen Jahren verlieren Federn einen Teil ihrer Länge und damit Vorspannung. Der Innendurchmesser muss zur Welle passen, sonst schlägt die Feder an.
Warum das Originalteil
Ein Dämpfer ist kein Verschleißteil im Ganzen, sondern eine Baugruppe aus Teilen, die einzeln getauscht werden können. Eine korrekt bestückte Überholung stellt das Ansprechverhalten wieder her, das ein müder Dämpfer verloren hat. Sie können die Nummer auch mit der Rechnung der letzten Wartung abgleichen. Maßgeblich ist die Nummer; Bezeichnungen wiederholen sich bei Öhlins über verschiedene Größen hinweg.
Öhlins wickelt Federn aus Chrom-Silizium-Stahl und setzt sie vor der Auslieferung. Ein überholtes Federbein arbeitet wieder mit der Dämpfung, die im Datenblatt steht — vorausgesetzt, die Teile stimmen. Für Beiwagen und Gespanne gelten andere Raten als für Solomaschinen. Original-Serviceteile halten die Einheit in dem Zustand, für den Öhlins sie abgestimmt hat.
