Original-LS2-Ratschenmechanik mit Visierauflage für den FF901 Advant X, Artikelnummer 800901CBR01. Das ist die gerastete Mechanik, die das Außenvisier in seinen Offenstellungen hält und zugleich seinen Drehpunkt trägt — geliefert als Paar, links und rechts, mit Schrauben.
Es ist das Teil, das an jedem Helm mit gestuftem Visier zuerst versagt. Die Rasten sind kleine Kunststoffzähne, die gegen eine Feder arbeiten, mehrmals pro Stunde bewegt werden und an einer Stelle sitzen, die Straßenschmutz sammelt und mit Reiniger gewaschen wird. Sind sie rundgelaufen, hält das Visier seine Position nicht mehr: Es wandert im Fahrtwind zu oder fällt beim Bremsen herunter. Beides ist nicht unmittelbar gefährlich und beides ist außerordentlich lästig.
Der Wechsel braucht einen Schraubendreher und rund zehn Minuten. Machen Sie beide Seiten, auch wenn nur eine ausgefallen ist — sie verschleißen gleichmäßig, und eine neue Raste gegen eine abgenutzte hält nicht gleichmäßig. Weil hier auch der Visierdrehpunkt sitzt, ist ein verschlissener Satz häufig die eigentliche Ursache dafür, dass ein Visier nicht mehr gegen die Schale abdichtet.
