Die Leatt Body Protector 2.5 ist der Einstieg in die Hartschalenfamilie von Leatt – und schon als Einstiegsmodell deckt sie viel ab: Brust, Rücken, Schultern und Ellbogen, alles CE-zertifiziert, dazu eine geschlossene Brustplatte, die der Front eine durchgehende Fläche gegen Einschläge und Steinschlag gibt.
Angenehm im Alltag wird die 2.5 durch die FlexMesh-Bauweise. Die Platten sind als gelochte, gitterartige Struktur gefertigt, sodass die Luft weiter durch den Protektor strömt. Die ganze Jacke biegt sich dreidimensional mit und sitzt flach unter oder über dem Trikot. Wer für Motocross, Enduro oder Trail die Sicherheit einer Hartschale ohne schweres Tragegefühl sucht, ist hier richtig.

Passform und Größen
Ein flexibles 3D-Design hält die 2.5 nah am Körper, und der höhenverstellbare Nierengurt bringt den Protektor auf die richtige Höhe an Ihrem Oberkörper. Über den seitlichen Reißverschluss steigen Sie ein und aus, ohne die Brustplatte über den Kopf heben zu müssen.
Leatt bietet drei Größen für Körpergrößen von 160 bis 196 cm an: S/M, L/XL und XXL.
Hartschale trifft FlexMesh
Die 2.5 verbindet eine leichte Hartschale mit dem FlexMesh von Leatt. Statt aus einer starren Platte bestehen die Schalen aus einer gitterartigen, gelochten Struktur, die laut Leatt maximale Belüftung ermöglicht. Vorn sitzt eine geschlossene Brustplatte, die der Hersteller für eine bessere Abdeckung bei Brustaufprall angibt.
Laut den von Leatt gelieferten Daten besteht der Protektor zu 74 % aus thermoplastischem Polyurethan, zu 7 % aus vernetztem Polyethylen mit Mesh, zu 14 % aus Textil und zu 5 % aus sonstigen Materialien. Auf der Leatt-Webseite ist ein Gewicht von 1,68 kg angegeben.
Zertifiziert nach EN 1621
Jede Zone ist nach CE mit Level 1 geprüft: die Brustplatte nach EN 1621-3, die Rückenplatte nach EN 1621-2, Schulter- und Ellbogenprotektoren nach EN 1621-1. Zusätzlich ist der Protektor vom französischen Motorradverband FFM zertifiziert.

Nackenstütze und Trikot
Die Rückenplatte lässt sich abnehmen. Zusammen mit dem BraceOn™-System können Sie eine Leatt-Nackenstütze so wahlweise über oder unter dem Trikot fahren. Ohne Nackenstütze bleibt die Rückenplatte einfach montiert und deckt den Rücken vollständig ab.
Grundgewebe
Unter den Platten liegt eine geruchshemmende Basisschicht aus MoistureCool und AirMesh, die Schweiß von der Haut ableitet. Diese Schicht spüren Sie den ganzen Tag – sie sorgt dafür, dass sich die Hartschalenjacke auch an einem warmen Nachmittag nicht klamm anfühlt. Die 2.5 kommt in plastikfreier Verpackung.
Was Sie wissen sollten
Alle Zonen der 2.5 sind mit Level 1 zertifiziert. Möchten Sie Level 2 an Brust und Rücken in Hartschalenbauweise, sind die Leatt 4.5 Evo und 5.5 Evo die nächsten Stufen. Die Jacke ist unisex geschnitten; für Frauen bietet Leatt eine eigene Body Protector 2.5 Damen mit konturierter Brustplatte an. Die Doppelgrößen S/M und L/XL decken jeweils eine breite Spanne ab, einen Teil der Feinanpassung übernehmen deshalb Nierengurt und Gurte.
Farbe
In der schwarzen Ausführung trifft ein schwarzes Mesh-Grundteil auf eine dunkelgraue Brustplatte mit 2.5-Schriftzug, so zeigen es die Leatt-Produktfotos. Eine neutrale Wahl für alle, die von Rennen zu Rennen das Trikot wechseln – und auf den dunklen Platten fallen Kratzer vom Steinschlag weniger auf als auf einer hellen Oberfläche.
