Vierundvierzig gebaut
Eine für jede von Hamiltons Rennnummer, in Mattschwarz mit goldenen Details, geschmiedeten Rädern und Titan-Auspuffanlage. Jede Änderung an einem Motorrad, das in dieser Stückzahl gebaut wurde, wird zuerst daran gemessen, was sie mit dem Ansehen der Maschine macht.
Nur zum Anschrauben
Diese Einheit klemmt am Lenker und wird an MVs eigenen Stecker angeschlossen. Es wird nichts gebohrt, nichts gespleißt, und die serienmäßige Gasgriffbaugruppe lässt sich jederzeit wieder einbauen, sodass das Motorrad genau in dem Zustand bleibt, in dem es war.
Warum es überhaupt zur Sprache kommt
Weil manche LH44 tatsächlich gefahren werden. Der serienmäßige Gasgriffweg ist lang für einen Motor in dieser Abstimmung, und auf einer guten Straße ist der Unterschied zwischen beiden innerhalb weniger Kurven offensichtlich.
Zurückhaltung im Originaldesign
Hamiltons Mitwirkung führte zu einer für MV-Verhältnisse ungewöhnlich ruhigen Ausstattung: matt statt metallisch, Gold sparsam eingesetzt. Ein Cockpit-Bauteil, das das respektiert, passt besser dazu als eines, das sich aufdrängt.
Abgedichtete Kontakte
Elemente nach Militärspezifikation in einem aus einem Block gefrästen Gehäuse. Auch ein wenig genutztes Motorrad wird gewaschen, und die Dichtungen halten Wasser von Kontakten fern, deren Austausch mühsam wäre.
Bewusst positioniert
Eine unabhängige Halterung lässt sich drehen und verschieben, um sich dem Fahrer anzupassen, statt dort zu sitzen, wo das Gasgriffrohr zufällig endet. An einem derart teuren Motorrad ist es kein Luxus, die Bedienelemente genau dort zu haben, wo die Hand tatsächlich ansetzt.
Titanfarben
Eine eloxierte Oberfläche, in die Oberfläche umgewandelt. Vor Mattschwarz und Gold wirkt sie wie gefrästes Metall und nicht wie ein Zubehörteil, und mehr kann man von einem Nachrüstteil hier kaum erwarten.
