The Smaller Multistrada
A 937 cc Testastretta making 113 horsepower in the full Multistrada chassis. Ducati built it because the 1200 was more motorcycle than most buyers needed and priced it accordingly.
Four Riding Modes
Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro, each changing power delivery, ABS, traction control and on some versions the suspension. Ducati established this idea on the Multistrada before it became universal.
Nineteen Inches at the Front
Ducati gave the 950 a nineteen inch front wheel, which is the compromise that makes it genuinely usable on a gravel road without ruining it on tarmac.
Throttle Assembly Only
The switch block remains in place. This covers the housing alone, which is what most owners need when the electrics are still working properly.
Long Days at the Grip
A Multistrada covers distance, which means hours of continuous throttle position rather than laps. A housing that keeps its bore tight makes that a great deal less tiring.
Black Anodised
Converted into the surface. The bar on an adventure bike is exposed to everything and an anodised finish handles that better than any coating.
Cut From Ergal
The 7075 grade at roughly twice the yield strength of ordinary machined aluminium. On a bike likely to be dropped on gravel, that is a practical consideration.

The Testastretta 11 degree engine's interval transformed what a Ducati costs to own. It is one of the least glamorous and most important things the company has done in twenty years.
Four Bikes in One, Genuinely
Ducati's claim about the Multistrada was marketing, but the riding modes really do change the motorcycle rather than merely softening the throttle. Enduro drops the power to 75 horsepower and reconfigures the ABS, and on a gravel track that is a different machine from the one that was on the motorway an hour earlier.
