Die 690 Enduro R ist ein straßenzugelassenes Enduro-Motorrad mit einem 690-cm³-Einzylinder. Der JP PD KT032 ersetzt deren rechten Lenkerschalter durch ein gefrästes Ergal-Gehäuse.

Wirklich geländetauglich
Einundzwanzig-Zoll-Vorderrad, 250 Millimeter Federweg und eine Sitzhöhe, die die meisten Fahrer auf die Zehenspitzen stellt. Die Enduro R ist keine Reiseenduro mit Stollenreifen, sondern eine Wettkampf-Enduromaschine mit Licht, und sie verhält sich entsprechend.
Ein Jahrzehnt ohne Neukonzeption
KTM baute diese Generation von 2014 bis 2024 mit Überarbeitungen statt Ablösungen. Chassis und Schalteraufnahme blieben dabei durchgehend gleich, was praktisch ist, da viele dieser Motorräder mindestens einmal wieder aufgebaut wurden.
Der Lenker trifft auf den Boden
Jedes auf diesem Terrain gefahrene Motorrad fällt um, wiederholt und meist im Schritttempo. Das Lenkerende erreicht fast als Erstes den Boden, und ein aus massivem Ergal gefrästes Gehäuse verformt sich dort, wo eine geklipste Spritzgussfläche an ihrer Klemmung aufreißt.
Stehend, nicht sitzend
Die Sitzposition geht davon aus, dass der Fahrer über längere Strecken auf den Fußrasten steht, was die Hände von oben und weiter vorne an den Lenker bringt. Für einen sitzenden Fahrer ausgelegte Bedienelemente liegen in einem anderen Winkel, und gefräste Konturen funktionieren aus beiden Positionen.
Staub vor Wasser
Feiner Schmutz schadet einer Schaltereinheit mehr als Regen, weil er sich in einen Kontakt einarbeitet und dort bleibt. Abgedichtete Elemente in einem Gehäuse ohne Gussfuge geben ihm keine Möglichkeit einzudringen, was bei einem nach jeder Fahrt abgespritzten Motorrad doppelt zählt.
Universelle Klemmlöcher
Enduro-Fahrer montieren Handschutzbügel, Lenkererhöhungen und oft eine andere Bremspumpe. Die universelle Platte nimmt beide Lochgeometrien auf, was den Cockpitaufbau flexibel hält, statt ihn um eine Komponente festzulegen.
Weit entfernt von Hilfe
Diese Motorräder werden dort gefahren, wo Bergung schwierig ist. Eine Komponente, die unwahrscheinlich ausfällt, ist hier mehr wert als dieselbe Komponente an einem Motorrad, das nie eine Straße verlässt, und das ist das praktische Argument für dieses Teil.
