Von Anfang an limitiert
Aprilia verkaufte die RF in nummerierten Serien mit Superpole-Lackierung und Öhlins-Federung, während die RR Sachs trug. Mechanisch sind beide dort, wo es zählt, identisch und unterscheiden sich vor allem dort, wo der Fahrer tatsächlich hingreift.
Ansaugtrichter, die sich bewegen
Der Ansaugtrakt des V4 verkürzt sich mit steigender Drehzahl und füllt den mittleren Bereich, ohne die obere Leistung zu kosten. Das ist einer der Gründe, warum ein 999,6-cm³-Motor 201 PS leisten und trotzdem schon ab sechstausend Umdrehungen saubere Züge entwickeln konnte.
Das versetzte Lochbild
Diese Befestigungsbohrungen sind versetzt angeordnet, passend zur originalen Hauptbremszylinder-Klemme. Die Universalversion existiert für Motorräder mit radialen Ersatzteilen; beide sind nicht austauschbar, und der Lenker verrät, welche Variante vorliegt.
Vier eloxierte Oberflächen
Schwarz, blau, rot und titanfarben, in das Aluminium eloxiert statt nur aufgesprüht. Das Superpole-Design trägt Schwarz, Rot und reichlich Weiß, sodass drei der vier Varianten problemlos dazu passen.
Aus einem Block gefräst
Ergal 7075, maschinell bearbeitet, mit im Gehäuse abgedichteten Schalterelementen. Das Original ist aus zwei Hälften gespritzt, und genau an dieser Fuge dringt irgendwann Feuchtigkeit ein.
Was zuerst verschleißt
Nicht die Mechanik, sondern die aufgedruckte Beschriftung am Original, die unter UV-Licht und einem Sommer mit Handschuhen verblasst. Die gefräste Version trägt keinen Aufdruck, der verloren gehen könnte.
Originalstecker
Verkabelt an Aprilias eigenen Stecker, sodass nichts durchtrennt und nichts codiert werden muss. Die alte Baugruppe kommt ab, die neue kommt an – in denselben fünfzehn Minuten.
Nummeriert, nicht nur beschriftet
Die RF kam in festgelegten Serien mit einem Schild auf der oberen Gabelbrücke, was für ein Motorrad dieser Stückzahl ungewöhnlich ist. Sie hat ihren Wert spürbar besser gehalten als die RR, und Besitzer geben entsprechend mehr für die Ausstattung aus.
