Neunzehn Zoll vorn
Der Kompromiss, der die 950 auf losem Untergrund nutzbar macht, ohne sie auf Asphalt zu verderben. Das ist eine ehrlichere Entscheidung, als siebzehn oder einundzwanzig Zoll es gewesen wären.
Drei Ausführungen
Schwarz, rot und titanfarben, in die oberste Schicht des Metalls umgewandelt. Der Lenker eines Reisemotorrads trifft auf Salz und Schotter, und beides respektiert keine beschichtete Oberfläche.
Salz statt Regen
Wasser trocknet irgendwann aus einer Kunststofffuge heraus. Streusalz nicht, und auf einem durch Winter gefahrenen Motorrad greift es über mehrere Jahreszeiten einen Kontakt von innen an.
Gekapselte Elemente
Eingeschlossen im gefrästen Gehäuse. Es gibt keinen Deckel, der an Spannung verlieren könnte, und von vornherein keine Fuge, entlang der Salz wandern könnte.
Wartungsintervalle alle dreißigtausend Kilometer
Das Intervall des Testastretta-11-Grad-Motors hat verändert, was eine Ducati im Unterhalt kostet. Auf einem Motorrad, das echte Strecken zurücklegt, ist das die wichtigste Zahl im gesamten Datenblatt.
Eine Scheibe, die sich verschieben lässt
Fünfzig Millimeter Verstellung von Hand im Stand. Auf einem für lange Distanzen gekauften Motorrad entscheidet dieses einzelne Detail, ob der Fahrer erfrischt oder taub ankommt.
Von der 1200 abgeleitet
Ducati entwickelte keine kleinere Multistrada von Grund auf neu, sondern setzte den Mittelklassemotor in das Fahrwerk der vollgroßen Version. Das Ergebnis ist mehr Motorrad fürs Geld, als der Preis vermuten lässt.
Beladen gefahren
Packtaschen, ein Beifahrer und ein Topcase verändern das Verhalten eines hohen Motorrads vollständig. Die 950 wurde mit allen drei im Blick abgestimmt und nicht leer getestet und dann optimistisch verkauft.
