Elektronische Dämpfung an einem Roadster
Die semiaktiven Öhlins-Elemente der SP lesen die Inertial-Messeinheit aus und passen sich fortlaufend an. An einem Naked Bike mit 165 PS und kurzem Radstand hält das das Fahrwerk durch Lastwechsel ruhig, für die das Serienfahrwerk vorab eingestellt werden müsste.
Ein durchdachteres Cockpit
Yamaha gibt der SP eigene Displaygrafiken, eine andere Sitzbank und das Farbschema der R1M. Bei den Schaltern endet diese Sorgfalt, denn es ist dasselbe Bauteil, das in jeder anderen MT-10 verbaut wird.
Was die linke Hand steuert
Blinker, Hupe, Lichthupe und die Navigation durch ein vernetztes Farbdisplay mit Fahrmodi und Eingriffsstufen dahinter. An einem alltäglich genutzten Motorrad sammeln diese Tasten schneller Betätigungen an als alles andere am Fahrzeug.
Abgedichtet für den Alltag
Abgedichtete Schaltelemente in einem einteiligen Gehäuse. Die MT-10 SP ist teuer und wird trotzdem im gewöhnlichen Wetter gefahren, und das Fehlen einer Formnaht ist es, was den Blinker auch im fünften Jahr noch präzise schalten lässt.
Vibration durch eine ungleiche Kurbelwelle
Die Crossplane-Zündfolge schickt eine bestimmte Frequenz in den Lenker. Ein gefrästes Gehäuse mit einer richtigen Schraubbefestigung hält das besser aus als zwei durch Klipse zusammengehaltene Kunststoffschalen.
Eine Oberfläche
Schwarz eloxiert. Vor der silbernen Verkleidung und dem goldenen Fahrwerk der SP hält das das Cockpit ruhig, was bei einem Motorrad mit so viel optischem Geschehen die richtige Entscheidung ist.
Reversibel vor einem Verkauf
Der serienmäßige Block lässt sich jederzeit mit demselben Stecker lösen und wieder einbauen. SP-Modelle halten ihren Wert, und Käufer fragen nach Umbauten, daher lohnt es sich, das Original aufzubewahren.
Was das Original ist
Zwei Spritzgussteile, die um den Lenker geklipst sind. Solide, günstig in der Herstellung, und die Tasten, die über der Fuge zwischen den Hälften liegen, verlieren als Erste ihre Präzision.
