Was die SP ergänzt
Ein Öhlins-Federbein hinten, eine vollständig einstellbare KYB-Gabel vorn, Brembo-Hauptbremszylinder, Tempomat und eine Lackierung, die Yamahas Renngeschichte entlehnt ist. Es ist die Version, die von Fahrern gekauft wird, die das Fahrwerk und nicht nur den Motor nutzen möchten.
Brembo an beiden Hebeln
Die SP erhält serienmäßig radiale Hauptbremszylinder, was an einem Naked Bike dieser Preisklasse ungewöhnlich ist. Das bedeutet auch, dass die Klemmgeometrie von der Basis-MT-09 abweicht, was bei der Wahl des rechten Schalters eine Rolle spielt, bei diesem jedoch nicht.
Eine dicht belegte linke Schaltereinheit
Blinker, Hupe, Lichthupe, Tempomat und die Navigation durch ein vernetztes Farbdisplay mit vier Fahrmodi dahinter. An der SP ergänzt der Tempomat eine Funktion, die das Standardmodell nicht besitzt, und er wird auf längeren Fahrten ständig genutzt.
Ausstattung, die man vom Sattel aus sieht
Der Öhlins-Ausgleichsbehälter und der Brembo-Schriftzug liegen nicht im Blickfeld des Fahrers. Die Schaltereinheit schon, und an einer so sorgfältig ausgestatteten Version ist das Kunststoffgehäuse das Bauteil, das diesen Eindruck schmälert.
Abgedichtet für den ganzjährigen Einsatz
Abgedichtete Elemente in einem einteiligen Gehäuse. Eine MT-09 SP ist teuer und wird trotzdem bei gewöhnlichem Wetter gefahren, und das Fehlen einer Gussnaht ist es, was den Blinker auch in der fünften Saison noch präzise hält.
Ungleichmäßige Zündfolge
Die Kreuzkurbelwelle des CP3 schickt einen charakteristischen Puls durch den Lenker. Ein gefrästes Gehäuse mit verschraubter Klemmung kommt damit besser zurecht als eine geclipste Baugruppe – ein mechanisches und kein kosmetisches Argument.
Schwarz eloxiert
Eine einzige Oberfläche. Vor der silber-blauen Lackierung der SP und ihrem goldenen Fahrwerk hält Schwarz das Cockpit ruhig, statt eine vierte Farbe hinzuzufügen.
