Öhlins und ein Datensystem
Die Factory kam mit Fahrwerk und Rädern, die für den Streckeneinsatz gewählt wurden. Ein Logging-System hinzuzufügen ist die logische Fortsetzung dieser Ausstattung und keine Abweichung davon.
Nicht die eigene Elektronik des Motorrads
Die Eingaben gehen hier an das I2M-Dashboard. Das Tastenverhalten wird in dessen Konfiguration festgelegt, sodass das, was der Schalter tut, vollständig davon abhängt, wie das System programmiert wurde.
Was bereits vorhanden sein muss
Ein Rennkabelbaum und das Dashboard selbst. Dieser Schalter ist der Teil, der eine solche Installation vervollständigt, und er ist wirkungslos an einem Motorrad, das noch Aprilias Originalkabelbaum trägt.
Ausrüstung für Privatfahrer
I2M-Displays sind im italienischen Club- und nationalen Rennsport verbreitet, weil sie ordentlich aufzeichnen, auch ohne Werksbudget im Hintergrund. Sie werden von Fahrern gekauft, die ihre eigene Saison finanzieren.
Schwarz eloxiert
Umgewandelt in das Aluminium. Bei einem Rennmotorrad wird die Oberfläche danach beurteilt, wie sie einen Hochdruckreiniger und einen Anhänger überlebt, nicht danach, wie sie auf Fotos wirkt.
Innen versiegelt
Elemente nach Militärstandard in einem gefrästen Gehäuse. Wasser, das einen Kontakt erreicht und dort bleibt, beendet Wettbewerbs-Schaltermaterial, und heißes Waschen ist der Weg, auf dem es dorthin kommt.
Aus dem Vollen gefräst
Ergal 7075, maschinell bearbeitet. Es wird über eine ganze Saison voller Zerlegungen aus- und wieder eingebaut, ohne jemals das Spiel zu entwickeln, das ein geklipptes geformtes Gehäuse irgendwann zeigt.
Im Einsatz während der Session
Rundenmarkierungen und Seitenwechsel werden während der Fahrt gedrückt, nicht in der Box. Das ist eine Belastung, der keine Straßenbedienung je nahekommt, und genau deshalb werden diese Schalter so gebaut, wie sie gebaut sind.
Woher die Factory kam
Aprilias Superbike-Programm und die straßenzugelassene Factory hatten deutlich mehr gemeinsam, als die meisten Homologationsgeschichten zugeben, einschließlich des verstellbaren Fahrwerks und der Motorarchitektur. Deshalb taucht ein fünfzehn Jahre altes Exemplar noch immer mit einem modernen Datensystem am Start auf.
