Kawasaki änderte den Namen 2020 im Zuge einer umfassenden Überarbeitung. Käufer gebrauchter Exemplare müssen beide Namen kennen.

Bei einem beladenen Motorrad kommt das vor, und ein Ersatz ist nicht immer zur Hand. Der Ausbau der Einheit ist manchmal die praktische Antwort statt der sportlichen.
Eine verbogene Halterung sieht identisch aus
Ein Sturz auf der linken Seite kann den Schalter aus seiner Position bringen, ohne ihn zu beschädigen, und die Symptome sind dieselben wie bei einem Defekt. Zuerst die Ausrichtung zu prüfen, kostet nichts.
Versiegelt statt offen
Der Eliminator ist vergossen, daher bleibt der Stecker, den er belegt, genauso vor Wasser geschützt wie mit montiertem Original-Schalter. Das gilt nicht für jede improvisierte Lösung.
Eine Frage, die man stellen sollte
Ist der Ständer noch am Motorrad? Wenn ja, schützt die Verriegelung vor einem echten Fehler, und ein neuer Schalter ist die bessere Antwort.
Salz erreicht ihn als Erstes
Alles, was tief links an einem im Winter genutzten Motorrad sitzt, verbringt Monate im Salzwassersprüh, und dieser Schalter ist näher an der Straße als alles andere Elektrische.
Die Änderung dokumentieren
Jeder, der später am Motorrad arbeitet, geht davon aus, dass die Verriegelung sich so verhält, wie Kawasaki sie gebaut hat, und ein Eliminator ist leicht zu übersehen. Ein Eintrag im Serviceheft erspart einen vertanen Nachmittag.

Sehr viele SX-Besitzer montieren Kawasakis eigene Koffer dauerhaft, statt sie zwischen Fahrten abzunehmen, was verändert, wie das Motorrad geparkt wird und wie viel Last der Seitenständer trägt.
