Speichenräder
Neunzehn Zoll vorn und siebzehn hinten, mit Schläuchen. Das ist die richtige Auslegung für ein Motorrad, das Schotter sehen soll, und Kawasaki ist dabei keine Kompromisse eingegangen.
Fürs Abenteuer gekauft, für alles genutzt
Sehr viele Besitzer einer Versys-X pendeln damit die ganze Woche und verschwinden im Sommer für zwei Wochen. Sie meistert beides ohne Murren.
Zuerst sporadisch
Ein sterbender Schalter stellt den Motor an einer Kreuzung ab, verhält sich in der Werkstatt einwandfrei und wiederholt das zwei Wochen später. Gerade das Sporadische macht die Fehlersuche so unangenehm.
Kawasakis eigener Stecker
Keine Adapter und nichts gespleißt, und das zählt, wenn der Serienschalter irgendwann zusammen mit dem Ständer wieder montiert wird.
Hochdruckreiniger
Eine auf den Schwingendrehpunkt gerichtete Lanze drückt Wasser direkt in den Stecker, und die Korrosion, die folgt, zeigt sich erst nach einer Saison. Das ist bei jeder Marke die häufigste Ursache für einen vorzeitigen Ausfall.
Eine Frage, die sich lohnt
Ist der Ständer noch am Motorrad? Wenn ja, schützt die Sicherheitsschaltung vor einem echten Fehler, und ein neuer Schalter ist die bessere Lösung.
Ein versiegeltes Gehäuse
Der Eliminator ist vergossen statt offen, sodass der Stecker genauso gut vor Wasser geschützt bleibt wie mit dem montierten Originalschalter.
Fünf Minuten, wirklich
Der Stecker sitzt nahe dem Schwingendrehpunkt und ist erreichbar, ohne Verkleidungsteile abzubauen. Es ist die kürzeste Arbeit auf jeder Vorbereitungsliste und diejenige, die als Erstes erledigt werden muss.
Leicht genug zum Aufheben
Mit rund 175 Kilogramm lässt sich die Versys-X nach einem Sturz auch von einem kleineren Fahrer wieder aufheben, und genau diese Tatsache bestimmt, wofür das Motorrad gedacht ist und wie es genutzt wird.
