Für harten Einsatz ausgelegt
Klappbare Fußrastenspitzen, lange Federwege und eine hohe Sitzbank. MV erwartete, dass die Rivale dort eingesetzt wird, wo die Fußrasten aufsetzen, und ein Teil der Besitzer hat diese Einladung ernst genug genommen, um die Straßenausrüstung zu entfernen.
Breiter Lenker auf der Rennstrecke
Die aufrechte Sitzposition und der breite Lenker bieten viel Hebelwirkung, was engen Strecken und kurzen Kartbahnen besser passt als einer langen Geraden. Es ist das Supermoto-Argument, angewendet auf ein straßenzugelassenes Motorrad.
Entfernen der Straßenbedienelemente
Blinker und Hupe fallen mit dem Licht weg, und die Positionen, die sie belegt haben, gehen mit ihnen. Was bleibt, liegt weiter auseinander, und ein Daumen, der von oben an einen breiten Lenker greift, profitiert von diesem Abstand mehr als ein Fahrer an Stummellenkern.
Serienkabelbaum
MVs eigener Stecker und das Werks-Steuergerät. Es ist kein Rennkabelbaum nötig, sodass der Umbau rückgängig gemacht werden kann und das Motorrad diagnosefähig bleibt – bei einem Modell mit so begrenzter Teileversorgung ein echter Wert.
Es wird hinfallen
Ein so gefahrenes Motorrad kippt um, und das Ende eines breiten Lenkers erreicht als Erstes den Boden. Ein Gehäuse aus Ergal 7075 bekommt Schleifspuren, wo eine zweiteilige Kunststoffschale an der Klemmung bricht und ersetzt werden muss.
Gekapselte Elemente
Kontakte, gekapselt in einem einteiligen Gehäuse. Die Rivale hat überhaupt keine Verkleidung, sodass das Gehäuse die gesamte Arbeit übernimmt, Wetter und Waschwasser von der Elektrik fernzuhalten.
Schwarz eloxiert
Ein einziges Finish, durch die Oberfläche hindurch. An einem Motorrad mit so viel optischer Dynamik wie der Rivale ist ein zurückhaltendes Cockpit-Bauteil in der Regel die bessere Entscheidung.
