Gekauft, um gefahren zu werden
Vollständig einstellbares Kayaba-Fahrwerk, eine leichtere Batterie und eine Einzelsitzbank. Die Factory ist die Ausstattung, für die sich Menschen entscheiden, die das Motorrad tatsächlich nutzen wollen, statt damit zur Arbeit zu fahren.
Der blaue Taster wandert
Das Race-Layout behält alle Funktionen und ändert die Reihenfolge, wobei die meistgenutzte Taste ans untere Ende der Reihe kommt. Nach einer Session fällt es nicht mehr auf, und nach etwa drei weiteren Kurven schaut man gar nicht mehr hin.
Ein Zweizylinder, der Drehzahl will
Der 659-cm³-Motor erreicht seine Spitzenleistung bei 10.500 U/min, weil er die Zylinderabmessungen eines Superbikes übernommen hat. Nichts sonst in der Klasse verlangt eine solche Fahrweise, und genau deshalb lohnt sich bei diesem Motorrad ein Trackday.
Drei Oberflächen
Schwarz, Blau und Titanfarben, in das Aluminium eloxiert. Zur markanten Lackierung der Factory beruhigt Schwarz meist das Cockpit, während Blau die Grafiken direkt aufgreift.
Geändert zwischen den Sessions
Traktion, Motorbremse und Kennfeld werden alle von hier aus erreicht. An einem Trackday werden diese bei jeder Boxeneinfahrt angepasst – eine Beanspruchung, auf die das Original nicht ausgelegt war.
Abgedichtet gegen den Wasserstrahl
Elemente nach Militärstandard im gefrästen Gehäuse. Das heiße Waschen nach einer Session beendet auf einem Bahnmotorrad die Schalter, nicht die Anzahl der gefahrenen Runden.
Aus einem Block gefräst
Maschinell bearbeitetes Ergal 7075. Die Halterung gibt auch dann nicht nach, wenn eine Taste durch den Handschuh fest gedrückt wird – genau dann, wenn es darauf ankommt.
Reversibel
Vorverkabelt auf den Original-Stecker, ohne dass etwas verlötet wird. Das Motorrad lässt sich in denselben fünfzehn Minuten wieder in den Serienzustand zurückversetzen, die der Umbau gedauert hat.
Fahrwerk statt Leistung
Die Factory-Ausstattung der 660 kauft Fahrwerkskontrolle statt Leistung, was bei einem 183 Kilogramm leichten Motorrad die deutlich sinnvollere Investition ist. Diese Entscheidung sagt zugleich viel darüber aus, für welche Besitzer das Motorrad gedacht war.
