Die Wahl für Trackdays
Sehr viele RR-Modelle kamen auf die Rennstrecke, weil das gegenüber der RF gesparte Geld Fahrwerksarbeit und eine Saison Reifen finanzierte. Genau für dieses Besitzmuster ist ein Schalterblock im Race-Layout gemacht.
Wohin der blaue Taster wandert
Bei der Street-Version sitzt er an zweiter Stelle in der Reihe, hier am unteren Ende. Bei starkem Bremsen erreicht der Daumen zuerst das Ende der Reihe, und das Layout ist um diese Tatsache herum gebaut, nicht um Symmetrie.
Gleicher Motor, andere Federn
RR und RF teilen sich den 999,6-cm³-V4, den Rahmen und die Elektronik. Sachs statt Öhlins und Gussräder statt geschmiedeter Räder sind der gesamte Unterschied, was die RR zum rational sinnvolleren Bahnmotorrad für Umbauten macht.
Nur bis 2017
Dieser Block passt auf das bis einschließlich 2016 verwendete Schalterlayout. Aprilia überarbeitete es für das folgende Modelljahr, und die spätere Baugruppe trägt eine vollständig andere Artikelnummer.
Anpassung unter Last
Die Traktionsstufe sinkt, wenn der Reifen nachlässt, und das Kennfeld ändert sich, wenn die Strecke abkühlt. Beides wird von hier aus erledigt, mitten in der Runde, ohne das Gas zu schließen – viele Zyklen auf wenigen Kontakten.
Vier eloxierte Farben
Schwarz, Blau, Rot und Titanfarben, in die Oberfläche eingebracht. Ein Bahnmotorrad fällt gelegentlich um, und die Eloxierung stumpft an der Kontaktstelle ab, statt dort abzublättern.
Abgedichtete Elemente
Eingeschlossen im gefrästen Gehäuse statt hinter einer Klemmabdeckung. Das Hochdruckwaschen nach einer Session drückt Wasser durch jede Formfuge, und diese Bauweise bietet keine.
An einem Nachmittag rückgängig zu machen
Vorverkabelt auf den Original-Stecker, sodass das Motorrad für einen Verkauf ohne jede Verkabelungsarbeit in den Originalzustand zurückversetzt werden kann. Nirgends wurde etwas durchtrennt, verlängert oder verlötet.
