Öhlins und ein Schaltautomat
Die S-Ausführung ergänzt denselben Motor um Fahrwerk und Schaltautomat, und genau dort liegt der größte Teil des Preisunterschieds.
Last und Drehzahl
Diese beiden Achsen definieren jeden Betriebspunkt, den ein Motor je erreicht. Ein Kennfeld mit genug Zellen beschreibt das Ganze, und genau das bedeutet vollständige Verwaltung des Kraftstoffkennfelds.
Firmware
JetPrime bringt Updates über dieselbe Software heraus. Sie erscheinen selten und sollten vor Beginn eines längeren Abstimmungsprojekts eingespielt werden und nicht mittendrin.
Der Zeitaufwand
Ein Nachmittag für etwas Brauchbares, ein Winter für etwas Gutes. Wer nicht die Geduld für die zweite Zahl hat, sollte das günstigere Gerät kaufen.
Zündkerzen sagen immer noch etwas
Das Ablesen von Zündkerzen ist eine alte und grobe Technik, aber an einem Rennstreckenmotorrad nach einem Volllastlauf entdeckt sie immer noch ein stark fehlerhaftes Kennfeld.
Rennkraftstoff braucht sein eigenes Kennfeld
Eine andere Oktanzahl und ein anderer Energiegehalt verändern die Anforderung. Zwei klar benannte Dateien und die Disziplin, vor der Sitzung die richtige zu laden.
Winterlagerung
Bei ausgeschalteter Zündung wird kein Strom gezogen, und nichts muss abgeklemmt werden. Das Kennfeld bleibt während der Einlagerung genau so im Steuergerät, wie es geschrieben wurde.
Eine vollständige Anlage gegen einen Slip-On
Eine komplette Auspuffanlage verändert den Gasstrom weit mehr als ein einzelner Schalldämpfer. Der Abstimmungsaufwand steigt entsprechend, und ebenso der Wert eines guten Kennfelds.
Woran Besitzer aufgeben
Nicht am Einbau und nicht an der Software. Es ist die Disziplin wiederholbarer Messungen, die Leute scheitern lässt, denn ein Kennfeld auf uneinheitlichen Messwerten ist schlechter als gar kein Kennfeld.
