Derselbe Motor, andere Luft
Breite Lenker ändern, wie der Fahrer mit dem Gas umgeht, und Aprilia hat die Tuono entsprechend abgestimmt. Der Motor selbst ist das RS-Triebwerk mit einer sanfteren Charakteristik in den ersten zweitausend Umdrehungen.
Bei null anfangen
Ein leeres Kennfeld bedeutet, dass das Motorrad genau wie zuvor läuft, weil jede Korrektur null ist. Das ist der sicherste mögliche Ausgangspunkt, und genau dort sollte jede Sitzung beginnen.
Höhe und Temperatur
Das Serien-Steuergerät gleicht über seine eigenen Sensoren aus, und dieses Gerät legt sein Kennfeld darüber. Ein auf Meereshöhe erstelltes Kennfeld funktioniert auch im Gebirge noch, nur weniger präzise.
Zwei Kennfelder vergleichen
Die Software zeigt sie nebeneinander an. So lernt ein Besitzer, welche Änderungen tatsächlich etwas bewirkt haben und welche nur Einbildung waren – mit einer festen Kurve ist das unmöglich.
Der Vorteil des Prüfstands
Wiederholbarkeit. Dieselbe Last bei derselben Drehzahl, so lange es nötig ist, ohne Verkehr und ohne Wetter. Dafür bezahlt man den Stundensatz.
Interpolation erklärt
Zwischen zwei Zellen blendet das Gerät die Werte proportional über. Ein Kennfeld mit einem Ausschlag ergibt einen Motor mit einem Ausschlag, weshalb das Glätten Teil der Arbeit ist.
Zwei Fahrer
Das Kennfeld steckt im Motorrad, nicht im Fahrer. Wer die Maschine auch immer bewegt, bekommt das, was zuletzt geschrieben wurde – das ist bei einer gemeinsam genutzten Maschine wichtig zu wissen.
Der Airbox-Kasten spielt eine Rolle
Alles, was den Ansaugstrom verändert, verändert die ganze Fläche. Besitzer, die die Airbox nach der Abstimmung verändern, haben eine weitere Abstimmungssitzung vor sich, keine bloße Anpassung.

Welcher Auspuff, welcher Filter, welcher Kraftstoff und welche Kennfeld-Datei. Dieser Nachweis macht ein Kennfeld in der nächsten Saison wiederverwendbar – und ohne ihn ist es wertlos.
