Ein sehr kurzer Ansaugtrakt
Aprilias enger Fünfundsechzig-Grad-V-Motor lässt den Luftfilterkasten fast direkt über den Drosselklappenkörpern sitzen. Das Ergebnis ist ein Füllverhalten, das präzise Dosierung belohnt und eine grobe bestraft.
Speichern und erneut laden
Kennfelder sind Dateien. Sie lassen sich sichern, an jemand anderen verschicken, nach einem Fehler wiederherstellen und nebeneinander vergleichen, und genau das ist der praktische Vorteil von Software gegenüber einer festen Kurve.
Änderungen dokumentieren
Das Kennfeld vor jeder Sitzung mit Datum im Dateinamen speichern. Wer schon einmal drei Abende Arbeit durch eine nicht gespeicherte Änderung verloren hat, macht diesen Fehler nur einmal.
Filter und Luftfilterkästen
Ein offener Luftfilter verändert die gesamte Kennfeldfläche und nicht nur einen Bereich. Wer einen solchen montiert, sollte eine komplette Abstimmungssitzung einplanen und nicht nur eine kleine Anpassung.
Zwei Schalldämpfer, zwei Dateien
Ein Wechsel der Auspuffanlage bedeutet einen Wechsel des Kennfelds. Beide liegen auf dem Laptop, und jedes davon zu schreiben dauert weniger als eine Minute, was das vorkonfigurierte Modul nicht bieten kann.
Volllast zuletzt
Das ist nur eine einzige Linie, braucht einen Prüfstand, um richtig ausgelesen zu werden, und ist der Bereich, den ein Straßenmotorrad am seltensten besucht. Damit zuerst anzufangen ist ein verbreiteter und unproduktiver Reflex.

Entfernung des Katalysators
Den Katalysator zu entfernen verändert den Gegendruck und entfernt ein Bauteil, von dem das Werkskennfeld ausging. Das ist einer der stärksten Gründe, ein programmierbares Steuergerät zu fahren.
Kein Ersatz für mechanische Arbeit
Verschlissene Führungen, eine müde Kette, ein verstopfter Filter oder ein undichter Ansauggummi erzeugen Symptome, die kein Kennfeld beheben kann. Zusätzlicher Kraftstoff über einem mechanischen Defekt verzögert die Reparatur und verschleiert die Ursache.
