Ein Motorrad ohne Gänge
Aprilia gab der Mana ein stufenloses Getriebe, wodurch der Motor bei der Drehzahl liegt, die die Elektronik wählt, statt bei der, die der Fahrer vorgibt.
Modellspezifische Verkabelung
Der Kabelbaum ist für genau ein Motorrad zugeschnitten, mit den passenden angespritzten Steckern. Deshalb listet der Katalog Maschinen und nicht Motorenfamilien, und deshalb zählen die Baujahre.
Nicht für ein Serienmotorrad
Eine unveränderte Maschine mit Originalauspuff braucht kein programmierbares Kennfeld. Dafür ist das günstigere, voreingestellte Modul gedacht – dieses hier wäre dafür überdimensioniert.
Rennkraftstoff
Eine andere Octanzahl und ein anderer Energiegehalt verändern, was der Motor braucht. Wer zwischen Kraftstoffsorten wechselt, braucht zwei Kennfelder und die Disziplin, das richtige aufzuspielen.
Sicherheitsreserve
Dort, wo der Motor am stärksten arbeitet, leicht fett abstimmen. Der Leistungsunterschied ist vernachlässigbar, die Folgen eines Fehlers in die andere Richtung sind es nicht.
Das Originalsteuergerät bleibt unberührt
Kein Parameter geschrieben, keine Adaption gelöscht, kein Fehlerspeicher verändert. Jede spätere Diagnose am Motorrad liest die Elektronik des Herstellers.
Logging-Software
Eine Breitbandsonde mit Logging-Ausgang macht aus einer Ausfahrt auf der Straße einen Datensatz. Die Auswertung danach ist sicherer und ergiebiger, als ein Display bei Fahrt abzulesen.
Ein zweiter Satz Einspritzventile
Das unterstützt dieses Steuergerät nicht. Es steuert die serienmäßigen Einspritzventile, und wer mehr Kraftstoffmenge braucht, ist über das hinaus, was ein Zusatzsteuergerät leisten kann.
Wann es fertig ist
Wenn eine weitere Sitzung keine messbare und keine spürbare Veränderung mehr bringt. Ab diesem Punkt ist die Arbeit ein Hobby und keine Verbesserung mehr – ein durchaus guter Grund, trotzdem weiterzumachen.
