The JP CJP 042B is the fuel controller for a F700GS whose engine has been modified far enough that the standard closed-loop correction has run out of authority.

The Restricted One
Same engine, less output and a smaller front wheel. The 700 was aimed at riders who wanted the GS shape without the seat height or the licence requirement.
Air Filters Specifically
A less restrictive filter changes airflow across the whole map rather than at one point. Correcting that properly needs a surface, not a single percentage.
Reversibility in Practice
The original connectors go back together in minutes and nothing has been written to the motorcycle. That matters at a service, at a sale and during any diagnosis.
Where the Cable Goes
Think about the USB connection before securing anything. A unit buried under a subframe means removing bodywork every time the map changes.
Fitting Is the Easy Part
Connectors, a mounting position and a cable tie. Twenty minutes to an hour depending on the model, and then the actual work starts.
A Season to Finish
Realistic for an owner working alone on roads. Anybody expecting a finished map by Sunday evening has bought the wrong product for their patience.
On a Road Bike
Worth it if the motorcycle is genuinely modified and the owner enjoys the work. Otherwise the preset module reaches most of the benefit for less money and no evenings.
On a Single
Every firing event arrives through the chassis. A single is the most revealing engine to map and the least forgiving of a rushed job.
The Fair Recommendation
If the engine is modified and the owner will do the work, this is the right unit. If either half of that sentence is untrue, the preset module is the better purchase and costs ninety euros less.
