Abgashardware an einem Rennstreckenmotorrad
Das System ist an der Race-Version vorhanden, weil der Motor es aus der Homologation mitbringt. An einem Motorrad, das nicht zugelassen werden kann, erfüllt es überhaupt keinen Zweck.
Die mechanische Hälfte
Der Magnetventil-Eliminator bringt den Fehler zum Schweigen. Diese Platte verschließt die Kanäle, und das ist es, was tatsächlich verhindert, dass Luft die Auspuffkanäle erreicht.
Eine Dichtung im Lieferumfang
Die Stelle ist heiß, und improvisierte Abdichtung versagt dort. Die passende Dichtung liegt der Platte bei, statt als zusätzliche Position auf einer Bestellung zu stehen.
Keine Straßenzulassung
Yamaha nahm die R1 in Europa vom Straßenverkauf und führte sie als reine Streckenmaschine weiter, ausgeliefert ohne Beleuchtung oder Spiegel.
Der Vierzylinder mit Kreuzschlauch-Kurbelwelle
Yamahas ungleichmäßige Zündfolge stammt von der M1 und bleibt das bestimmende Merkmal des Motors. Nichts anderes in der Klasse verhält sich so.
Aus dem Vollen gefräst
Gefrästes Aluminium bleibt plan, wo Pressblech sich verzieht. An einer Dichtfläche, die an einen Zylinderkopf geschraubt wird, gibt es nichts anderes zu besprechen.
Vor dem Rennkennfeld
Eingeblasener Sauerstoff lässt die Lambdasonde ein Gemisch melden, das es nicht gibt. An einem Motorrad, das für den Prüfstand bestimmt ist, ist das das Erste, das entfernt werden muss.
Ein einziges Modelljahr
Diese Passung gilt für 2025. Yamahas reines Streckenprogramm ändert die Spezifikation zwischen den Saisons, und das Jahr spielt entsprechend eine Rolle.
Reversibel
Die Originalabdeckung mit Dichtung lässt sich bei Bedarf jederzeit wieder montieren, auch wenn das an einer Race-Maschine kaum je nötig sein dürfte.
Für das Reglement am Leben gehalten
Yamaha baut die R1 für Wettbewerbsklassen weiter, die eine Serienbasis verlangen, lange nachdem sie in Europa nicht mehr zulassungsfähig war. Das ist eine ungewöhnliche Position für einen Hersteller und der einzige Grund, warum es überhaupt eine reine Streckenversion gibt.
