Die Mechanische Hälfte
Reedgehäuse an beiden Köpfen mit Schläuchen zum Luftfilterkasten. Das elektrische Stummschalten des Magnetventils lässt alles davon unverändert montiert.
Zweihundertzwanzig Millimeter
Federweg an beiden Enden. Die R-Version wurde für Gelände gebaut, das die meisten Adventure-Motorräder nur dem Anschein nach bewältigen können.
Was Als Erstes Abreißt
Schläuche und Kunststoffboxen über dem Motor sind die ersten Opfer eines Sturzes auf Felsen. Sie zu entfernen erspart eine Reparatur, die weit entfernt von jeder Hilfe passiert.
O-Ring-Gedichtet
Eine gefräste Nut und ein Gummiring gegen eine plane Fläche. Kein Papier, keine Dichtmasse und nichts, das Jahre später gereinigt werden müsste.
Ein Flacher Sitz
KTM hat die R so gestaltet, dass ein Fahrer im Stehen nach vorn und hinten wandern kann. Es ist eine kleine Änderung, die verändert, worüber das Motorrad überhaupt gefahren werden kann.
Beide Zylinder
Der V2 trägt das System doppelt. Nur eine Seite zu verschließen lässt die Deaktivierung unvollständig.
Vor Einem Remapping
Ungemessene Luft nach der Verbrennung verfälscht jeden Prüfstandswert. Abstimmungsentscheidungen, die auf diesen Werten beruhen, übernehmen den Fehler.
Originalschrauben
KTMs eigene Positionen und Drehmomentwerte. Es wird nichts gebohrt, und kein Gewinde im Kopf wird verändert.
Der Magnetventil-Stromkreis
Wird weiterhin überwacht. Der elektrische Eliminator ist das, was die Warnung vom Display fernhält.
Homologation
Das Entfernen von Abgasbauteilen beendet die Straßenzulassung in jedem europäischen Markt.
Ein Jahrzehnt Später, Immer Noch Fähig
Der Wertverlust hat die 1190 R in die Reichweite von Fahrern gerückt, die sie nie neu gekauft hätten, und das Motorrad darunter ist nicht so gealtert, wie es der Preis vermuten lässt. Die Elektronik hält weiterhin, und der Motor hat sich als robust genug erwiesen, dass hohe Laufleistungen unauffällig sind.
