Die umbenannte Street Twin
Triumph hat die Modern-Classics-Reihe 2023 neu geordnet, und aus der Street Twin wurde die Speed Twin 900. Das Motorrad darunter hat sich kaum verändert.

Ein Dreizylinder-Krümmer
Dreizylinder-Auspuffanlagen führen drei Abgasimpulse in einem Rohr zusammen, und Rückstände, die in diesem Volumen verbrennen, sind lauter, als sie es bei einem Zweizylinder wären. Das ist einer der Gründe, warum Triumph-Besitzer es bemerken.
Wärmezyklen, nicht Kilometer
Die Membranen haben Zylinderkopftemperatur und biegen sich bei jedem Schließen des Gasgriffs. Sie versagen durch Alterung und nicht durch Laufleistung, was Besitzer wenig gefahrener Motorräder überrascht.
Die Teile kommen in eine Kiste
Das Ventil, sein Stecker und alle ausgebauten Klammern brauchen fast keinen Platz und sind alles, was nötig ist, um das Motorrad vor einer Prüfung oder einem Verkauf wieder in den Serienzustand versetzen zu können.
Was an einem kalten Morgen passiert
Das System ist in der Warmlaufphase am aktivsten, dann ist das Knattern am lautesten, und dann wird ein versagendes Magnetventil am ehesten vom Selbsttest erfasst.
Unterbringung unter dem Tank
Der Eliminator muss an einer Stelle sitzen, an der er weder scheuern noch eingeklemmt werden kann, meist heißt das: mit einem Kabelbinder an einem vorhandenen Kabelstrang. Lose gelassen findet er etwas, an dem er reiben kann, wie jedes herabhängende Bauteil.
Ein aufgeräumterer Kabelbaum
Sind beide Hälften montiert, kommt der Schlauch über dem Motor heraus, und was unter dem Tank übrig bleibt, steht bei der Arbeit spürbar weniger im Weg.
