Was das Steuergerät misst
Den Spulenwiderstand, bei jedem Zündzyklus. Es kann ein absichtlich ausgebautes Ventil nicht von einem gebrochenen Kabel unterscheiden und hat auch keinen Grund, es zu versuchen.
Nur im Schiebebetrieb
Bei jeder nennenswerten Drosselklappenöffnung ist das Ventil geschlossen. Es arbeitet ausschließlich bei geschlossenem Gas, also genau dann, wenn niemand etwas vom Motor verlangt.
Ruß in der Airbox
Eine gerissene Membran lässt Abgas durch den Schlauch zurückströmen, und die Rückstände legen sich auf den Filter. Entdeckt wird das meist, während man nach etwas ganz anderem sucht.
Eine Entscheidung, die festgehalten werden sollte
Wer in fünf Jahren an diesem Motorrad arbeitet, wird davon ausgehen, dass die Abgasreinigung intakt ist. Eine Zeile im Serviceheft erspart später jemandem eine Stunde Rätselraten.
Verkauft, weil der Fehler häufig ist
Zubehörteile gibt es dort, wo Hersteller eine Lücke lassen, und ein überwachtes emissionsrelevantes Bauteil, für das keine Wartung vorgesehen ist, ist genau so eine Lücke.
Die Warnung ist keine Kosmetik
Manche Fahrer leben mit der Leuchte, und das geht gut, bis ein davon unabhängiger Fehler auftritt, der sich nicht von dem unterscheiden lässt, der seit zwei Jahren angezeigt wird. Ein sauberes Cockpit hat diagnostischen Wert.
